Cayo Santa María Aquarium-Dolphinarium
Opened in 2011, this aquarium offers daily dolphins shows (it is home to a total of nine dolphins) as well as sea lion displays. It is also home to many of the region’s autochthonous species, such as the hawksbill sea turtle, which is critically endangered. The dolphinarium is the only attraction of its type in Villa Clara.
Pueblo La Estrella
A large shopping and entertainment complex where you can get your hands on some of Cuba’s famous cigars, rum and local handicrafts.
Located on the island of Cayo Las Brujas, this marina close to the cays offers a full range of facilities including boat trips, scuba diving, catamaran trips, rowing, kayaking, etc.
Santa Clara Remedios
Why not take the early 20th-century steam train to the colonial-era town of San Juan de los Remedios, founded by the island’s colonisers. Or take a stroll around the central park and visit the “Iglesia Parroquial Mayor” (Main Parish Church) with its gold-coated Baroque alter.
