Since 2016, the company has been working with the Albert Foundation, which, jointly with the Pere Tarrés Foundation, Cáritas and other organisations, promotes the health and education of socially vulnerable children and their families.
The activities that are carried out include:
Support for social initiatives helping people at risk of social exclusion to enter the labour market, financial donations and donations to social dining rooms
FASE Project: dental, ophthalmological, podiatry and osteopathy check-ups, as well as help with school work, summer camps and activity centres
Other joint projects
Cooperation with Sant Joan de Déu de Barcelona and its Hospital Amic programme to improve the experience of children in hospital
We cooperate with local non-profit organisations working on various projects to help developing countries
Helping families to enter the labour market by contracting them in hotels
At our Ocean Coral & Turquesa resort, we assist with the conservation of sea turtles by providing training for our staff and partners on the importance of protecting endangered species
Over the past two years, we have made significant progress in our sustainability strategy, reaching key milestones that reinforce our commitment to the environment and local communities:
We managed to reduce our carbon footprint by 25% in 2024, a milestone certified by AENOR.
A 35% reduction in food waste, preventing the generation of more than 300 tonnes of organic waste. Thanks to the implementation of artificial intelligence systems, we have optimised food production at several of our hotels in the Canary Islands and the Costa Blanca.
The consumption of glass bottles was reduced by 2.8 million in 2024.
Our resorts in Riviera Maya and Punta Cana have been Blue Flag certified, guaranteeing excellence in environmental management, safety, water quality and environmental education at our beaches.
We work with the Albert Foundation to provide holistic support to children and their families, aiming to prevent poverty and social exclusion through medical check-ups, academic support and therapeutic counselling.
We promote the labour inclusion of people in vulnerable situations through recruitment agreements with various local organisations, including Fundació Esperança, the Red Cross and other social institutions.
We donate food, furniture and toys to disadvantaged communities. Key actions include the preparation of 6,420 meals for soup kitchens in Barcelona, a charity gala dinner for the HM Hospitals Foundation, and bi-weekly food donations to the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Food Bank.
We provide financial support to Sant Joan de Déu Children's Hospital for its assisted therapy programme with dogs. Alongside trainers and medical staff, these animals contribute to patients’ emotional wellbeing and help them overcome treatment challenges.
We collaborate with the Fundació Guné to promote female literacy in the Kolda region of Senegal. With the support of H10 Hotels, 400 women received training in literacy, health and nutrition in 2024, and were also able to send their daughters to school.
We support the Fundació Miró in the development of cultural and social projects that strengthen Barcelona’s artistic community and enhance its international visibility.
We take part in charitable initiatives such as Sant Jordi Solidario, in collaboration with Fundació Roure, Fundació Comtal, Asociación PAX Mundo, and other organisations including Fundació Gaspar de Portolà, Proyecto Hombre and Fundació Gresol.
Our roadmap for the near future focuses on concrete actions to continue improving both our environmental footprint and social impact.
H10 Hotels plans to install more than 9,500 photovoltaic solar panels in 13 of its establishments (11 in the Canary Islands and 2 in Punta Cana). This initiative, which has been co-financed by European Next Generation funds for the hotels in the Canary Islands, will generate a total power of 5,650 kWp. These installations will generate 15% of the electricity consumed by the 13 hotels, exceeding 30% in some of them.
We will continue to expand the use of filtered water stations to improve water efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of transporting bottled water.
We will keep implementing energy-efficient solutions in our hotels and resorts.
We are renewing our staff uniforms using recycled materials, supporting the circular economy.
We will expand the use of AI in more hotels to improve food planning and reduce waste.
We will continue working with local foundations to develop new job placement and social support initiatives.
