Ocean Coral Spring, Jamaica

Group of 14, ages 4 - 76, Everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Exceptional: All staff we encountered from the moment we arrived until we got on the bus to leave were exceptional. Friendly, welcoming, accommodating. This includes the check in staff, people assisting us to our rooms, restaurants, bars, and snack bar staff, entertainment staff, gym staff, and the cleaning staff. 10/10. These folks proudly work very hard to please guests so be appreciative and show them some gratitude - it is well deserved and appreciated. Excellent: The food and beverages we enjoyed throughout the resort. Plenty of options and never had a bad meal, snack or drink. Jerk chicken was unreal and the best beef short ribs I have ever tasted were at the buffet restaurant on our last night. Wow! Only surprise was the fresh fruit wasn't to our expectation. Perhaps due to crops damage from hurricane? Watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, pineapple, were all we saw, and the quality was mediocre. Didn't hamper our enjoyment at all though. Entertainment was abundant and enjoyable. We really loved how there was something to enjoy right after dinner in the main boulevard area each night. The magic show was really well done as was the Michael Jackson show. The talent night was really fun too! Kids water park is AMAZING!!! Snack bar and bar right there beside it so it's a great spot to enjoy the day while the younger ones play until their heart's content. Size of the resort was beautiful for our group. Not too big, not too small...just right. Very good: Rooms condition was very good, but some wear here and there (to be expected due to volume of use). Beds were firm but very comfortable and A/C was working great. Condition of the grounds was also very good despite still recovering from the hurricane last year. Grounds keepers are hard at work and it shows. Good: It was tricky to get loungers by the main pool and I wish there was more covered loungers available. We made do, not a huge deal. Pool was perfect temperature and large so it never felt crowded. Ok: Beach was the biggest draw back. There were lots of palapas and loungers by the water but the beach isn't for taking long beach walks and the swimming area is a bit cluttered with uneven bottom, some sea grass areas and some rocky/coral spots at the shoreline. You could still wade in and enjoy the beautiful ocean water, and the sheltered bay made if safe from the waves most of the time but long walks along the beach and free swimming/playing in the water are not an option here. All in all this resort was a fantastic spot for our family getaway and we would totally recommend it to anyone UNLESS the beach is your number one priority.

Fantastic Family Vacation

This was a fantastic resort. First time travellers to Jamaica and definitely will return. Service was extraordinary. There was so many staff in all areas of the hotel - leading to quick turn around on any request. The food was varied, fresh and at a premium level. Rooms were very clean. Pool, water slides and lazy River were super fun. The entertainment was super engaging. Such fun activities. It is to note that this is on the smaller side of resorts. This suited us as we loved the proximity between every bulding but for those who love massive resorts - point to be aware of. Small criticism would be the amenities for families with older kids (7+) The kids club is really for little children. Under 5. However The Family Room (video games, foosball, pool table, board games) requires parental supervision but could easily entertain 7-14 year olds. It would be nice if the hotel allowed kids to use this space run by staff as an older kids club.

Great vacation

We've been to Jamaica many many years times .love the island and the culture . We found the staff amazing friendly and helpful. 1st night was a little rocky due to their internet being down at checkin in but minor issue . Other than that we had no problems ac worked fridge stocked food was great for buffet food .Japanese restaurant was great!!!. We met staff that worked at a hotel we've stayed at in the past got to catch up with them and made new acquaintances as well . Anyone who says staff here are not friendly a kind "good morning good afternoon " works wonders might even strike up a conversation. We had an amazing vacation here at ocean and would return.

Relaxing Week

The Hotel is quite new with beautiful rooms, huge pool and grounds well kept -Rooms were well cleaned daily and stocked with linens and mini fridge. AC worked well. WIFI strong. -We prefer to eat at the buffet and check all the food out before filling a plate, it was clean and the food was so varied, hot and abundant! Everyone will find something delicious here! Pasta station was so good. The beach grill, the charcoal grilled chicken was excellent! -Coffee bar was very good and speedy service as there was always a lineup. Pastries with the coffee were delicious also. -Selina at the Privilege pool area was, genuinely a super nice person. And gave very good service.. *A few points to management: -We were uncomfortable with the word Privileged all week, can a new name be implemented?! -The scent in the main lobby and Privilege lobby, too strong! We steered clear of these 2 areas all week. -Our room only had 1 small trash can in toilet area, So we were given bags to hang on door knobs in room for the week. - We were sad we didn't receive our room Robes all week.... I guess a shortage. -The one light switch controlled hall lights/pot lights and over bed lights.... Not good! should be split up and a dimmer would be awesome for mood and more flattering lighting. -floor to ceiling curtains no rod or pull system. Very difficult to open and close.
