H10 Ocean Dunas, Fuerteventura

I cannot praise the H10 Ocean Dunas highly enough. We stayed for a week over New Years. We got a really friendly welcome when we arrived, and a glass of cava while we were checking in. The room we booked was a junior suite and was clean and comfortable, we had a table and chairs and sun loungers on our terrace which overlooked the pool so spent a lot of time relaxing there. The restaurant was excellent, I need a gluten free diet so often I have had problems in hotels knowing what I can eat. Nothing was too much trouble here, the starters and desserts were a buffet which can be difficult for me to know what I can eat and often involves someone pointing out to me which of the dishes are ok and me trying to remember it all. Here the kitchen plated a starter up for me with a lovely selection of salad, meat, cheese and fish, something different each day. The main courses are a la carte and there are a lot of choices. On my first evening I asked which of them were gluten free and was told that I could choose anything and the chef would change the ingredients for me. After this either William or Consuelo recognised me when we arrived and often bought out bread and a starter for me before I even had to ask. There were also desserts available for me. This is the best service I have ever had out of all the hotels we have stayed in over the years. It made our holiday even more relaxing as it took away the usual worry I have over mealtimes. The gala dinner on New Years Eve was really special; the staff went to a lot of trouble to ensure everything was perfect. All the courses and the wine were perfect. The location of the hotel was just a short walk to the beach, you can walk all he way along he beach to the harbour and there are many bars and restaurants along the way. Walking out of the hotel in the other direction you are steps away from the town, where there are shops and bars. Despite being so close to everything the hotel was really quiet and relaxing, we didnt really hear any noise from the town. All the staff were very friendly so a big thank you to everyone, we had an amazing holiday and special thanks to all the restaurant staff who went above and beyond to make sure I was able to enjoy all the delicious meals.

I meant to provide a review during our November stay,and then Christmas arrived! I have been a coeliac for over 15 years and need a strict gluten free diet.I have to say this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at for brilliant ,compassionate, attentive staff. Nothing is too much, hot meals cooked to order and I didn't miss the usual lukewarm buffets.Which of course can be a great risk for cross contamination.Lots of previous hotel staff haven't a clue which of the twenty dishes have and have not got gluten ingredients. The senior lady managing the restaurant and the guy who covered her whilst on leave were beyond brilliant.I have never been so relaxed in a hotel knowing there was a zero risk of gluten due to there business processes. Staff in every part of the hotel were very customer focussed, and it was a very relaxing place to stay. One slight area for improvement would be cleaning of rooms and maintenance in room etc. This was our first stay at a H10 hotel,I would be very interested to hear from a senior manager whether all H10 hotels, use the same processes as H10 Ocean Dunas for proving meals for a coeliac. Just returned from a wonderful 12 night Christmas break, this is our third visit at this hotel and for us it never disappoints. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcome back and a cold glass of Cava from Jonathan all the reception staff are very friendly and polite , we had emailed for a room request a few weeks earlier, and our request had been given , we were so pleased the room was great , and house keeping were wonderful in cleaning the room, and changing towels etc. This was our first time on half board, and was very happy with the food and also the fact that you can swap your evening meal to lunch time, William and all the team work really hard , none more so on Christmas Day, well done all. The location of the hotel is ideal just off the main street , so you do really get the best of both worlds. Give this hotel a try , we are planning on going back for Christmas in 2026 it is that good.

Here at the moment in room 231 which is a junior suite overlooking the pool. There are 3 H10 hotels in the area and we have checked out the other 2 and have to say we much prefer Ocean Dunas which is smaller and more intimate and much to our liking. We are here on a half board basis and we love the a la carte menu with a special every night and the fact you can swap dinner for lunch if you want to take advantage of the many restaurants just a very short stroll from the hotel. The hotel seems to be a little older than the other H10 hotels here but it is beautifully maintained by the wonderful staff. We just have to mention William, Deseree, Consuella, Davide and Sara on reception. They have all made our stay very enjoyable. We will be sad to leave on Sunday but there's always next year!
