H10 Estepona Palace, Costa del Sol

I stayed here as part of a tour group. I did not know what to expect. It is a resort. It has all the amenities you would need. Beautiful beachfront location. Very good food. Nice pool area. Lots of activities at the hotel. Great staff. I really enjoyed my stay

Our third stay at H10 Estepona Palace and yet again a wonderful 4 weeks. The accommodations, restaurants are first class and the food is varied and always perfectly prepared. The hotel is relaxed, well presented and clean throughout. All the hotel staff are outstanding, always kind and very friendly and go out of their way to make us so welcome. Perfectly located by the beaches and just a short walk to the marina in Estepona. Special mentions for Ezio, who keeps everyone smiling, Jaime and Jesus the entertainers and Antonio and José in the Thalassa terrace. Well be back!

Just back from a very lovely stay at this hotel. The positives The building itself and all its facilities, the location is tranquil (just perfect) and a nice walk (20 mins to harbour, 35-40 mins to Old Town) into Estepona, the friendly and hard-working staff, the range of daytime activities, the entertainment. The yoga and tai chi were a relaxing way to start the day. Things that could make it even better This is just personal choice but some more challenging activities in the daytime e.g. Zumba, aerobics or similar. The restaurant (like most hotels) has peak times and there were occasional queues, but the staff did well to keep things flowing. We understand why the hotel has footballers staying there (for warm weather training) at the same time as tourists as it is a known income for them, but I think the hotel might benefit from looking at other ways to manage mealtimes. At first, 20-30 team members would arrive at once and descend on the food like locusts making it very difficult to get served at the grill and get to the food e.g. salads. We dont blame them - they are hungry. After a few days, it seemed like their entry to the restaurant was more staggered which was a welcome change. Perhaps for next year, the hotel could look at serving them in a different area or having mealtimes that dont coincide as much. Some herbal teas being available at mealtimes and/or in the room would be good. If you are into healthy eating e.g. low sugar, less carbs, lots of protein and fresh veg, you may find the food okay but not great. The salad offerings were quite basic, and the buffet vegetables were a bit hit and miss. It would have been lovely to see freshly made stir fries etc, some tofu on the menu. Im gluten free and find that at this and most hotels, I get offered GF bread, biscuits etc which contain loads of sugar and additives which I dont want. A thing that makes the holiday experience less enjoyable is having to request GF options each mealtime, at the H10 these were fairly limited to e.g. pasta and fries. Good allergen labelling on foods items and sauces on the buffet would help a lot as it would increase choices. Or, like other establishments QR code scanning for allergens. Chef came out and explained the dishes on the first night, but it was busy, loud and there was a slight language barrier so asking for a guided tour every mealtime felt like a big ask/not possible. On that note, how lovely it would be if people with allergens didnt have to ask because there is good labelling in place, or the restaurant are proactive in producing a GF list to choose from. It takes a lot of pleasure out of the dining experience if you have to ask for something to be made up for you every mealtime. But I am grateful for the well-meaning effort that was put in. Summary we will definitely return and it would be a bonus if the gluten free and healthy eating side of dining has improved.

Just returned from a wonderful weeks holiday and loved the Hotel. The staff are very professional and really look after the guests all credit to the management. We upgraded to Privilege Board and it was well worth it. The Privilege Lounge is wells serviced with daily newspaper on offer. The Privilege terrace on 2nd floor is small but very private.The hotel is situated a little way out of Estepona Centre but it is on a bus route or only 5 Euro taxi ride to the port. Our room 672 was amazing with a very large terrace with sun beds, couches and table and chairs and amazing views down the coast to Gibralter!. The room was cleaned with linen changes every day and an evening refresh for towels etc if needed and Tea, Coffee and water were replenished every day. This hotel is perfect if you are looking for a very relaxing chilled out break and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The only slight negative was the lack of quality evening entertainment but as it was out of season that is understandable.
