Reviews
Perfect family holiday
Michelle81Sanders

We really liked this hotel. We had a 3rd floor one bedroom apartment overlooking the pool in block b. The balcony was bigger than others (378). The rooms were clean and plenty of room for 2 adults and two teenagers. The mattresses were hard in the bedrooms but we didnt have problems sleeping. There was air conditioning. All of the staff were lovely. The entertainment team were great. Mainly Spanish speaking but when I asked them a question they went out of their way to answer and get back to me. We loved the hotel song and dance it made our holiday . There is a race for the sun beds at 10am each morning. But this is a race for the best sun beds. I went down about 10.15am each morning and still had a choice. The beds are usually gone by 11am. Some days are busier than others and if you cant get a bed there are plenty of tables. We got 2 together on the first day at 12.30pm. You have to wait till 3pm on the first day to get a room. But there is a side room you can leave your luggage in. We opted to pay 2 Euro for a locker for peace of mind. There are games in the pool area for adults and kids as well as aqua fit. We went self catering. We had the buffet dinner one day. There was a good selection of food and good quality. It was 22 euros each. We went into the small town for tea each night. Our favourite was Route 66. There is a shop on site but there was more variety at the shop outside ( turn left up the hill at the entrance). The beach was small and busy, there may be others nearby but we preferred the pool. I would have no hesitation returning to another H10 hotel. It felt safe. There was entertainment every night. We didnt stay most nights but it looked good. We had lunch usually by the pool from the snack bar. Everything was nice. Iced coffees from the bar were good value. I think the hotel is geared towards families with young children, but my two teenage girls still enjoyed it. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to my friends. Its a bit quieter being out of Salou but we prefer a quieter location.

Best hotel ever

Just returned from this amazing hotel, we travelled 2 adults 2 children, from start to finish it was amazing. People have different views and expectations when they visit a hotel so everyones opinion is respected .. here is my honest experience staying here Reception team excellent , Rosa and Adrian both brilliant especially helped us with a few personal problems Bar and restaurant staff like Ive never seen before sebation Mariano and Toni all of them working so hard all day in the heat We stayed half board plent of variety including pizzas Mexican night with wraps salsa chips steaks ice cream for the kids and loads of desserts fresh cheese and different colds meats Entertainment the hotel team are in the go from 10.45 in the morning encouraging children and adults to join in with the games you can win free drinks etc the team work extremely hard. Evening entertainment was varied queen magicians dance acts all really good Room was immaculate massive balconys we had a two bed comfort room We have already booked for next year we feel the kids are safe and the whole hotel does everything they can to give the best experience while you stay there

Nice hotel, helpful staff, lovely area.

HOTEL- Hotel was pleasant (it's a family hotel so obviously not the vibe for couples). Nicely decorated, airy reception, and we never had to wait long for assistance. Receptionists are polite and helpful. Lots of sofas and chairs. Dining area is pleasant. Indoor pool and gym are a bit gloomy as they are in the basement. We werent interested in either so not an issue for us. POOL- Pool area is big - with 2 pools, and a small toddler pool. Pools were a nice temperature, not too cold. There are multiple lifeguards on duty. There is a supermarket, pizza cafe, and regular cafe up a set of outside stairs. All were good. (Pizza is excellent and you can take poolside). People queue for loungers...however I could usually find something throughout the day at some point....but then I wasn't fussed about sitting with my partner all the time (he likes full sun and I don't). Single spots easier to find. It's mostly more of an issue if you want a parasol. ROOM- Our apartment was nice & clean. Kitchen was stocked with the basics, although tea/coffee cups are ridiculously small. Only one power point in kitchen so can't use toaster and kettle at same time. Beds were big, and firmish, but comfortable. I slept really well. Our son was on a camp bed in the lounge and he said it was comfortable. AC was good. Decor circa late 90s/2000? I didn't mind it, nice change from gray. Big dining table. We had a huge double sized balcony furnished with a table and chairs, and a drying maiden. FOOD We were self catering, but we did pay for breakfast one morning and it was excellent. Lots of choice, pastries, fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, the cooked English option, pancakes, self serve coffee and tea, juices etc...... all very nice. ACTIVITIES There is a stage where most activities for kids take place. The stage is a bit dated and personally I think the entertainment and activities is the one area that could be improved upon. There are spacious rooms up a set of stairs from the pool area for Toddler, Junior and Teen clubs. The teen club was never really open, but you can see through the windows. It is set up with tables and chairs..... not remotely like a 'chill zone' which is what you would expect. The website has a picture of a fusball table but that is now gone. Sofas, pinball, card games, music options etc would be a good idea. In fact, they should put one of the ping pong tables in there. My son is an only child and he may have made a friend had there been a room to 'chill', hang out - as I'm sure many pre teens and teens were in hotel rooms playing on tablets by themselves. If their downtime was communal then it would be an opportunity to meet others. This seems to be a problem - hotels stuck in 80s / 90s idea of entertainment and activities. I briefly watched one of the evening entertainment acts but it wasn't for me. The acts are on til 10:30 so if you don't like noise book a room facing outwards from the pool area. BEACHES There are a few beach coves and they are all really lovely and scenic. The biggest one - Cala Font does have some loungers for hire, but no parasols. We mostly went in the evenings when the tide was rolling in. Cala Font is accessible, but the others may be a problem for those with mobility issues. It's the price for keeping them as natural as possible. There is a coastal path that takes you all the way into Salou. CAP SALOU I really liked this area. There is a small 'centre' of about 5 cafes / restaurants. Nothing amazing....standard fare - we thought Cap Salou Restaurant was best. There is a Michaelangelo supermarket and a few souvenir / clothes shops. The bus stop and information office is right outside the hotel. Buses go northwards to Le Pineda, Tarragona and Barcelona... and Southwards to Salou and Cambrills. There is a bus - the 74 - that goes to Portaventura World. Number 4 and 47 go to Salou. usually a bus along every 15 minutes or so. The journey to Salou is under 10 minutes. The local bus service is called 'Plana', and they sell cards that can be loaded up with tickets. Salou is a big tourist town with all the usual fast food outlets and shopping. The bus back to Cap Salou can be caught opposite the McDonalds. PORTAVENTURA WORLD I really liked the feel of this park. The landscaping and themes are great. Our favourite area was the Wild West. This is also the area that most suits kids not quite ready/ old enough for the massive roller coasters (my son is 11). The only problem, of course, is the queues. We waited an hour for most rides, so that spoiled it a little bit. There is a 'fast track' ticket if you want to pay extra.
