H10 Casanova, Barcelona

Pros - in a super spot, quiet at night, metro and bus just a 2 minute walk, shops and restaurants near by, super comfy bed, good breakfast! Cons - arrived late (9pm), wasnt offered a welcome drink, wasnt asked if wed like food or advised if the restaurant was still open. The cleaning and refills were REALLY hit and miss, water not refilled, dressing gowns taken and not replaced, glasses and room delivery trays not taken (2 days it was left on the side with food still on the plate) The hallway and door noise!!!!, this is the worst Ive ever had at a hotel, to the point on the first night I was awoken at 1am in a panic thinking someone was in our room, they were actually out in the hallway talking, there is ZERO attempt to block any noise on the room door, and the adjoining rooms doors slam shut causing even more noise, other H10 hotels we have stayed in have a secondary door into the bedroom area to avoid the noise issue, this really needs to be addressed, the the water from the next rooms bathrooms sounded like a waterfall in our room (a good hotel starts with a good nights sleep!) The Bar, we wanted to eat in the bar/restaurant downstairs one night, we sat for 40 minutes waiting for our order to be taken, when we used the buzzer service on the table we were not greeted particularly friendly, it was not busy and I had a feeling the waiter did not like the fact we were either English or I was a solo parent with a child in a bar, there were other people (couples or Spanish) that arrived after us but received preferential treatment, on top of this the pad Thai we ordered had been reheated and was all stuck together in one big clump, another part of the hotel that really needs addressing, we would have happily ate every night at the hotel if the service and food had been better. Being a H10 member we received a voucher for a free cocktail, the waiter clearly couldnt be bothered and told us there was only one cocktail on offer, if I didnt want this it would be wine or beer, but other guests were happily sipping on cocktails from the menu! All in all it felt like a very impersonal stay which is not like H10 hotels weve stayed in before. I have given 4 stars due to it being clean and in a great spot, without this it would have been 2 stars.

Starting with the welcome drink in the beautiful lobby, we had a wonderful experience here! Great location, lovely room, delicious breakfast. Helpful staff - appreciated their restaurant recommendation as the food and service at Tapas 2254 nearby was exceptional.

Our group of 7 friends truly enjoyed our time at this hotel. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and beautiful with a lovely view of the streets.. location is very central to mist everything. In the restaurant Jaime was exceptional!

Great location within walking distance of the Palace. Well appointed rooms, with good sound proofing. Wouldn't recommend the roof top bar for food. It's more volume than taste but pleasant spot to get a sundowner. Staff very friendly and offer a warm welcome.
