H10 Playa Esmeralda, Fuerteventura

Booked with Jet2. Emailed a few weeks before requesting an upgrade to privilege. Response was they would look.into it. We arrived no upgrade available as they were fully booked. Given a privilege room though at no extra cost. Melanie on reception was wonderful. Room was great and sea view. Bit out of the way from main building but that suits us fine and literally 2 mins from the beach.(Nudist) however lots of people in swimwear. So no issue and the sea was lovely. Coffee machine in the room and lots of lovely toiletries. Towels changed as often as you like, just leave them on the floor. Pool towels are given but charged at 2 euros per towel change per person. Can pay cash or settle when you checkout. Buffet restaurant is for non privilege and privilege if they choose. I am personally not a fan of the buffet restaurant. I found on occasion food was lukewarm and weird combination but I did manage yo find dome things to eat. Generally freshly cooked omelette for breakfast so this was guaranteed to be hot. Cooking station for dinner. Not quite so many themed dinners as we've previously had In a h10 hotel and we have been to 5. Pool snack bar was ok. We got the wrong order a couple of times and no drinks we ordered forgotten also. But hey we just went to the bar ourselves..no biggy. There is an abundance if drink to choose from. Lots of spirits etc. Cava. Self service water points. Still.sparkling and not too cold if you choose. A la carte. Stromboli. Needs to be booked. 1 visit per week.but this is shut 2 days a week so book ASAP. Our visit was shocking. They actually forgot our meal which is only.pizza. we waited we'll over an hour and when we asked they did apologise but we just left. However, after discussing this with a manager..eventually,it took.me 2 days to actually see someone they rebooted us in with genuine sincere apologies and the 2nd visit was amazing. They literally couldn't do enough for us. There were activities daily but no pressure to join in. Pool was reasonably warm do swimming is good abd the sea was also not too cold. New Years Eve gala was phenomenal. This was the best we've seen. Absolutely spoilt. Lobster. Scallops. Oysters. Violinist. Longer. Piano and a dj. Staff work hard to ensure guests sre catered to and have a good time. Countdown and then fireworks. Just wow! Overall we wanted sun and to literally do nothing but chill holidsy and that's what we got.

This was our second New Year week at this hotel. Same helpful staff and great location next to the beach. We love the New Years Eve celebration- we had a privilege room so had a 7 course served banquet followed by fireworks and dancing. We were told by others that the main buffet was also good with lots of choice. The pool was definitely warmer than 2 years ago so enjoyed a swim. Room clean and well serviced. Lots of options for drinks - bar and terrace overlooking the sea, Mikes coffee house for an afternoon coffee and cake, and the outside bar late in the evening with great singers. The Italian restaurant needs to improve - starters and desserts sound good but are of poor quality. Pizza wasnt cooked in the centre. WiFi was generally good but not strong enough to download books to kindle. Privilege AI is definitely worth it - great room, included minibar, lounge access (stocked bar) and served restaurant (rather than buffet). We love this hotel- already booked for our next trip.

We visited the H10 Esmeralda at the beginning of December for the first time. I contacted reception to request a room for easy access to the beach as both myself and my husband run and walk, we did not want to walk through reception or use the lift sweaty and covered in sand. We were given a room away from the main hotel block which was absolutely perfect for us. We have already booked to return next year and really hope we can have the same room or one close by. As we were staying for so many weeks I requested extra coathangers which were delivered to our room. Check in was quick and easy but we were the only couple at the desk, reception staff were friendly and helpful. We were shown to our room by a porter who was informative and again very friendly. The room was very clean and remained so during our visit by the very good housekeeping team. The hotel is easy to navigate, the lifts are fairly prompt plus there is the alternative of using the stairs which as we were on level 1 it was quite a workout to get up to the level 5 bar, another reason to reward ourselves with a G&T! The barstaff were really efficient and again friendly and happy. Our drink preference was noted by the manager and other staff so would be prepared quickly for us. The food served for all meals was hot and even hot plates provided, sometimes to hot to hold, but really appreciated. There was constant monitoring of the food provided and was quickly replenished as a choice ran low. The dining room staff work incredibly hard but they don't let it affect their service to you, we watch one particular client being difficult but she was handled with smiles and reassuring comments. We did eat at the Italian restaurant but were disappointed with our last meal there, a bread roll was served to the table which looked baked on top but was actually raw plus bread sticks offered had been opened by another guest who had eaten part of the pack. This was a lack of attention to detail I feel. Something we would have liked would be a spicy offering in the main restaurant, ie chilli or curry as the flavour of most food was mild. The entertainment was ok, the poolbar entertainment could be improved if there was a waterproof roof to protect both guests and entertainers. However, because of the fabulous beach for our training and walks plus the incredibly kind helpful happy staff who are a credit to the H10 Esmeralda we are returning. We were staying for 21 nights

As residents of the island we took a last minute mini break for a couple of days, the beach location of the hotel was fantastic On checkin we were upgraded to a privilege room which was a great gesture , the room was spacious and very clean with a huge bathroom The pool area is a huge plus for the hotel and well kept We found enough choice for the food and quality was good as was the all inclusive drinks offering All in all we had a wonderful couple of chilled relaxing days and would return again
