H10 Playa Esmeralda, Fuerteventura

Great location for the amazing beaches. Less so for supermarkets, restaurants and the bus stops. Although a very large hotel it never seemed crowded due to the size of its grounds and good design. Our room and balcony were large. Although there was another block in front of us we still enjoyed a good sea view. Well designed and decorated lobby bar and main restaurant. Drinks were reasonably priced. Good variety of food (especially the omelettes!) although the "show cooking" at dinner could be improved. Restaurant tables were well spaced out - it did get a bit crowded around the buffet, perhaps due to the weather and sunset times leading to a lot of guests arriving at the same time. Snack bar had a good range of light options. Cleaning and maintenance of room, grounds and gardens was very good. Nice to see sustainability given a high profile - water dispensers are a lovely touch, and there were plenty of recycling stations. No noise in our room from the road or entertainment - which was available nightly. All staff were lovely and friendly. We got the impression that staff had worked there for some years, and they clearly recognised their many repeat visitors. We may well be joining them!

Weve just come back from our second visit here for a week (6 years after first time) in the sun at this hotel and were still relatively pleased with it. On arrival the receptionist was very efficient and friendly and a welcome glass of fizz was soon given to us. We had a decent sized room in the main block on the second floor (2221) at the end of the corridor, it had a sea view but also partly overlooked the car park, the back set of stairs (and lift) were very close to our room so it was easy to get downstairs and outside via the spa to the outside area where we spent most of our time. There were plenty of sunbeds available both close to the pool and further away if desired, and they were comfortable beds unlike some hotels that you come across. The pool was freshwater and heated, and OK to swim in for November. The indoor pool was also heated. We were all inclusive and the choices available at breakfast, lunch and dinner were of a good standard, however the buffet quite often seemed to be short on dishes and not replaced quickly enough due to the amount of guests. Finding a table at meal times was usually OK, however if it didnt have cutlery and glasses laid ready for you then sometimes it took a while for a waiter/waitress to bring them to you and take your drink order more staff seem to be required as the ones who were their were rushed off their feet. There were usually 4 types of ice cream available every lunch and dinner, my wife wished that sorbet could have been available more often instead of the 4 ice cream flavours, she did however like the sweets that were on offer every night. It didnt usually take long to get served at the pool bar, however the blue bar sometimes took ages to get a drink. When the entertainment is on there are nowhere near enough seats to cater for the guests that want to watch the performance. Mikes coffee bar was a great place to get an iced coffee or shake in the afternoon. We went for a walk every morning, the beach is only 50 yards away from the rear door, once on the beach turn right for the nudists on the beaches and in the sand dunes, and further on for the windsurfing beach, or turn left for the larger family beach (again probably passing the odd nudes). We dont have a problem with nude sun bathing, if people want to do that its fine by us. The hotel is spotless and cleaners are constantly cleaning something. The weather for the week was mostly hot and sunny, a couple of cloudy afternoons, one day had rain for an hour but it beats UK weather in November. Its a remote hotel at the end of the resort of Costa Calma, and it takes about 75 minutes from the airport by coach.

Spent 7 nights at this fabulous adults only hotel as a solo traveller from the UK. I cannot recommend it enough. Arrived late at night to be told that I could collect some cold food snacks from the restaurant to eat in my room which was appreciated. Room spacious and spotless with excellent air-conditioning. Friendly housekeepers and all staff working in the bar and restaurants. Having stayed at lots of all inclusive Ives I felt the food was exceptional. I didnt pay extra for privilege. The only disappointment was that the only nights I had free to visit the al la carte restaurant, it was closed (Sunday/Monday). Particular mention to Kevin at the pool bar and Claudia the DJ. The main man was Wajidi who was in charge of animation and ensured everyone was welcomed. Easy access to the beach and lots of places to fill up your water bottle with still or sparkling water. Outdoor pool still cold in the morning, but once you jump in, you are fine! Plenty of sun loungers. Takes approx 1hr transfer from airport. Id stay again in a heartbeat.

As residents of the island we took a last minute mini break for a couple of days, the beach location of the hotel was fantastic On checkin we were upgraded to a privilege room which was a great gesture , the room was spacious and very clean with a huge bathroom The pool area is a huge plus for the hotel and well kept We found enough choice for the food and quality was good as was the all inclusive drinks offering All in all we had a wonderful couple of chilled relaxing days and would return again
