Reviews
Lovely hotel and could be perfect but wasn't
Hazel I
Just come back, we had been here before two years ago and I would say the food was much better then, it seemed the same thing every day even though they had themed nights you could get it most nights anyway.
The food in the restaurants you have to book were better quality food.
We were all inclusive and although the room was clean the beds were small and pillows were hard.
The hotel staff were lovely and helpful, the hotel is in a perfect place central to all the places.
Just needs a few tweak's and it would be perfect

Lovely hotel

Our third stay at this hotel.
I was critical of the accomodation in my last review ssying that the bedrooms were in need of a major refurb.
Im pleased to report that the accomodation that we had this year had indeed been updated to a high standard and was very comfortabke.
The Hotel is very clean and tidy.
All of the staff that we encountered were pokite and friendly.
The Conquistador is on a prime seafront position and just a short stroll to the bars and shops.
We found that the restaurant offered a huge selection of food at both Breakfast and Evening meal and was of a decent quality.
Even the fussiest eater should find be able to find something amongst the offerings here.
The pool area is huge with an ample amount of sunloungers available.
Theres no 6am stampede here for the beds as the area doesnt open until 8am and if anyone tries to reserve one before 9am their towels, books, suncream etc will be removed by the pool attendants.
That said I must point out that there were plenty of empty beds during our stay.
In summary,an excellent hotel which we will certainly visit again in the very near future.

Decent hotel but just seemed something missing

Not a bad hotel all in all.
Food
I thought the food was ok. A bit confusing with the lay out with thing where I didnt think they should be. The food for me was decent but not outstanding.
I thought the snack bar wasn't fit for purpose. We were all inclusive so I understand it has to be ordered & have no problem with that but I thought the standard of food at the snack bar was poor. The ice creams that were included were very nice though.
Pool
Large pool was lively but was too cold. The adults only infinity pool was amazing with the amazing barman Pedro. It was listed as heated & seemed warmish when we went in early in the week but seemed a log colder later in the week so not sure if it is heated. Maybe on warmer days the heat is lowered.
One drawback about the infinity pool was that there was no toilet there & it was quite a walk to the nearest one.
Bars
I thought the bars were excellent & all the bar staff were very helpful. The pool bar had great service & a decent selectiin of drinks & as far as i am aware no charges for special cocktails. As mentioned previously Pedro in the van at the adult pool was great but had limited choice which if you didnt like the "cocktail of the day" meant a trek to the pool bar.
The main bar was good on an evening with table service & very alert staff.
Al la cartes
We went to the Steak house al al carte. There is no charge for this. A had a soup starter which was ok & some fish pieces that for me had too much batter on them. I thought the steak was ok & the cheesecake was nice
Senses show
I thought the Senses show was excellent. The service was excellent. The food was very nice & the show was great fun. I would highly recommend.
Rooms
We got an upgrade to a junior suite. While I appreciate the upgrade as a couple the space wasn't really needed. Plus because it was an upgrade we were the furthest room from the facilities & also had the worst pool in the hotel, but i guess we should be appreciative.
Entertainment
I thought the entertainment was ok. But bizarrely there was a cold windy night & they chose to have a female singer outside. Most of the guests went to the upstairs bar because it was cold & windy. Its not really for me to make an opinion but surely they should have moved the entertainment inside.
Animation team
Low key is the key word here. Not once did they tell us what entertainment was on any day. They didnt walk around the hotel giving information. They didnt even acknowledge guests. Probably the worst animation team I have known & i am quite an experienced traveller.
Location
Great for nightlife & 5 minutes off the Golden Mile & near the beach. Excellent location.
Reception
Excellent staff, very professional. Although we did have an issue with losing the receipt for our towels & the man at reception giving us wrong information so when we went to collect our deposit the most obnoxious rude arrogant man in the whole of the Canaries would give us our money back. Eventually after another visit to reception this was resolved.
I dont go back to the same hotel twice but even if I didnt I wouldn't come back to this hotel. That's not to say we didnt have a good time though.

Good stay at this family friendly hotel

We stayed for one week half board at this family friendly hotel.
Overall we had a good experience, rooms were relatively clean albeit a little small for the 3 of us, was bit of a squeeze but we spend most of the day outside so not so bad. Fantastic location and good choice of facilities. Food was really good with a varied selection on offer, fairly good layout and separation of types of food (minimal cross contamination if you have specific dietary requirements)
Friendly staff and good kids entertainment team, our child loved the mini disco.
A couple of cons, entertainment is very loud and goes on until late, there is no sound proofing so dont expect to get to sleep before 11.00pm
The kids pool is super tiny and is the only place that children can play with any type of floats or balls.
Would definitely visit again.
