Almost Excellent - A Good 4* Hotel
Clare B
We had a 17 night stay on an All Inclusive basis in a Privilege Room. We requested a room on the 6th floor and were allocated 613 which is right next to the Privilege Lounge and very convenient for access to the sun terrace. This room gets no sun on the balcony as it is sheltered all day by the Lounge and the terrace door and windows rattled horrendously when it was very stormy a couple of times but otherwise we liked the location as it was so convenient. The Housekeeping staff were excellent in the main daily service, minibar replenishment, and evening "turndown" service - never a problem. I would say that our initial impression was that the room was small compared to many other hotels but actually it was fine once everything had "it's home".
The Privilege terrace has comfortable padded sunbeds, plenty of sunshades and effectively has 2 bars - the main Lounge (open from 9am to 7pm) and a "pop-up" type kiosk in the central area which opens from 11.30am until 6pm. The bars were usually well serviced, especially when Clarissa was present, and there was little cause for compaint except we would have liked more sugar free drinks in the Lounge as my husband is diabetic and tries not to drink full sugar soft drinks. The only real issue was the wind which on several days was pretty strong, even leading the closure of the whole terrace for half a day on 1 occasion. When the wind blew at this time of year it was pretty chilly unless the full sun was on you. The jacuzzi was nice and warm but in the windiest corner so not always inviting. The plunge pools were a waste as too cold at this time of year.
The main lobby bar staff were very attentive and as usual there is an excellent selection of drinks at an H10 so no compaints there. We used Mike's Coffee Shop on a couple of occasions and the drinks and cakes there were excellent but it only opens in the evenings. We would have used it more had it been open in the afternoons for an after lunch coffee (and perhaps cake!), We never used the outdoor main pool bar so cannot comment.
Restaurants are the main reason we will be returning. In our opinion both the food quality and preparation were generally excellent and although not always "hot" in the buffet, you have a microwave if you choose to top up the heat. We visited all 3 evening a-la-cartes on several occasions and (barring 1 strange visit to the Steakhouse) were always satisfied with both the service and the food. The Privilege breakfasts are also very good but we did wish they had a slightly larger self-serve buffet so for example you could just have a small amount of cheese or select your own pastry. We only went to the daytime outside snack bar once as preferred the buffet but were surprised it also had to be booked which also put us off a bit. I will add that the service throughout all the restaurants could not be faulted in our opinion.
The biggest annoyance in the hotel is the Lifts/Elevators. There are 4, they only really accommodate 4 or 5 people at a time, the hotel has 8 floors so a lot of people are regularly usinge them. At some times of day, the wait gets annoying. One evening around 7pm we waited around 10 minutes to go down to the -1 level to eat. I don't know how they can do it - perhaps adding a couple of scenic lifts on the outside of the building - but they really need more capacity.
I must mention 2 outstanding staff members. Clarissa - already mentioned under the Privilege section - she just worked tirelessly all day to make us happy and ensure snacks were delivered to sunbeds, bars were kept topped up and clean, and ensure everyone was comfortable. The other was Mauro in the Privilege Breakfast restaurant who quickly learned our coffee order and frequency and delivered extra coffees, toast and butter as required often without us asking. He is exceptional.
All in all, this was our first visit to this hotel and they did the vast majority of things right. You know those little niggles that REALLY can annoy you and mount up? There were none of these issues and if you look at my other reviews you will see we may be hard to please! We will be back either later in 2026 or in Spring 2027.

Short solo break, B&B - Winter sun
Ssolo_traveller71
Just finished a 4 night break at the hotel, stayed in standard room on B&B basis. The hotel was built in 1980, but has been refurbished in the last couple of years.
Id say the hotel has an excellent location, with an unobstructed view at the rear to the sea. With surfers riding the waves for added interest. It's close to high end shops and nice mixture of restaurants. Also a 6 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the Golden mile.
The breakfast was excellent with large selection from cooked to continent, with 4 freshly cooked option(omelette, toasty, crepes and fries eggs) would expect similar for other meals. It has several options from B&B to All Inclusive as well as an upgraded version - privilege. This gives you wider drinks selection, exclusive access to certain areas of hotel and welcome drink. It has 3 restaurants which I didn't try.
The pool area is large with an adult only area where you could get drinks from and a bar come restaurant in the main pool area as well.
Has a gym and Spa also, Gym was typical hotel gym, didn't use Spa but heard good comments about it.
The staff in general were lovely only issue was when first arrived had leaking toilet which wasn't taken serious by reception staff and after 2 hours sort out manager myself and she sorted the issues within 40 minutes when the issue couldn't be resolved.
Would I stay again or recommend, yes.

Lovely hotel

The location is in great near everything in playa de las americas. The privilege rooms are good. The Italian restaurant is good and private breakfast is excellent. The steakhouse is great and the service is excellent. The rooftop bar included is good. Overall this hotel is lovely and the service is good. When we arrived we were told by our hostess that we might be able to check out a bit later however this is my only complain about this hotel. If you cant offer this service then don't mention it at all to the guests. Especially when I went to ask in the reception, the eastern European receptionist woman was extremely rude and told me that they were full. There was no need for her to be rude at all. she acted like I was asking for a HUGE favor when in fact, it was our privilege hostess that told us to enquire about this possibility. Anyway, this is a great hotel and the only rude staff ive encountered was some of the women in reception. I hope they do something about it to make our stay more pleasant because the reception is our first point of contact with the hotel. They def need to get better staff and friendlier in the reception. The only one nice was the men. Overall i had a great experience in this hotel and just because of the rude receptionist im not giving it a 10!
