Ocean Blue & Sand, Punta Cana

Another fantastic stay at Ocean Blue , this place is paradise. We upgraded to Privilege and was worth the money to be able to have breakfast in the beach restaurant each day , the rooms are also beautiful. Victor made sure we were happy each day - hes a real superstar. The food is very good overall . Service in the specialty restaurants a bit hit and miss and the steak house food wasnt great sadly . Service in the buffet was excellent. The beach and pools are beautiful. The only downside was people being able to smoke in the beach restaurant whilst others are eating , we had to move a few times - a designated area would be better . Oh and Pinky bites !! Cant wait to go back

Rooms were great. Beach was great esp during sunrise, and they were good at clearing out beached-weeds. Buffet and restaurants had amazing food and variety with flavours quite nicely done. We were catered well with special requests for our table (food allergies, halal options, etc) very well by Chef Javier who is the Head Chef at the resort. Good service is what visitors are seeking and we got it! Wifi reception was perfect throughout the resort and beach (which is rare). Only downside was the towel service where they didn't have enough clean towels on 3 out of 7 days and that's something they ought to work on esp on busy days/time of the year. Also there should be a snack bar and bar open past 11 pm at least until 2 am. Mike's coffee shop near the reception area of the resort was amazing (and everything on the menu was made to perfection!) and rare to see at an all-inclusive resort. The coffee served anywhere else on the resort was sub par and so there ought to be one more Mike's coffee shop near the beach side of the resort. The beach bar drinks and snack bar buffet had amazing food with good service. We also conveniently booked a snorkeling excursion as well at the resort reception area (with Alexander). Our host Manuel helped with every request througout our stay. Entertainment could use some work but overall rooms were good, and food was made well! Good value for service, location, amenities!

We have been to this resort 5 times . Carlos on the Tiki bar is the absolute best!. He always treats you with respect and works hard to make sure you have the best bar service. Appreciate all the great service Carlos!

Lots of positives about this hotel but also some issues. The pools were good but like other people say get there early to reserve a spot near the pool. Pool bar was lovely but service a bit variable. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. We had a pool view which I would recommend although not if you want a quiet afternoon as the pool entertainment team turn up the volume. The buffet was ok but it felt the emphasis was on quantity not quality. We managed to eat at all the restaurants, the steak house and Japanese are bookable, but you need to do that by about 7.30am. With the others it's easy to turn up at 6pm and book a table for a bit later. In terms of food there was no 5 stars. The French was our favorite in terms of food but the Japanese is great for the theatre more than the food. The American diner food was terrible, the Mexican and Italian ok. The steak house which seemed the most popular by far makes a terrible Caesar salad but the steak was ok. The best bar we found was the piano bar, also the best cocktails made to order not mostly premade like at the pool bars and foyer bar. The sports bar also had good cocktails. Excellent coffee at Mikes cafe. There is a bowling alley and some pool tables which were always easy to get onto when we went in late afternoon. There was a lot to like about this hotel, but they need to stop the constant upsell of trips and telling us to book direct not through a tour company (we used TUI). Also, if your planning excursions this hotel seems to always be the last drop off point so we spent a lot of time on a minibus dropping people off at their hotels before we finally made it back.
