H10 Montcada, Barcelona

I stayed at the H10 Montcada for just one night prior to a cruise. It was an excellent choice and I wish I had been able to stay for a week. Barcelona is a beautiful city and this was the perfect hotel to explore some sites before I boarded my ship. Upon my evening arrival at the hotel I was warmly greeted by the desk clerk who made me feel very welcome, offering water, and explaining a bit about the hotel. My room on the eighth floor, although small, was perfectly adequate for my needs. The view, looking beyond the rooftop, was of the distinctive tower of the old post office at Place de Correus. I took in the view of the Cathedral of Barcelona, while enjoying a glass of Sangria, from the rooftop bar. A full dinner and bar menu was available at the rooftop bar, while the indoor restaurant was closed. In the room was a Nespresso machine, bottled water, mini bar and refrigerator, and some biscotti and chocolate treats. My stay included breakfast that was served in the Library restaurant on the lower floor of the hotel. It was a full buffet breakfast with many hot and cold choices, all delicious. The location of the hotel was convenient to do a quick walking tour of the area including the LArc de Triomf, the Cathedral, Mercat de La Boquiera, and the Picasso Museum. Check out was simple and the desk clerk called for a taxi to transport me to the pier. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay and would definitely stay again when I return to Barcelona.

The location for us was perfect. It's near the metro, in the Gothic, within walking distance of sights and restaurants, food market, shops, and just about anything you want. It has a rooftop bar and lounge area, which is enjoyable for relaxing. The front desk is always helpful for taxis, or other needs. The rooms are adequate, but small, even if you book the middle priced rooms. The a/c was weak and we were on the top floor, which gets more heat gain. We had to run the a/c all day to keep the room cool. The bottom sheet was not fitted, so every time you pulled up the top sheet to get into bed, the bottom sheet pulled out too, minor but annoying. Breakfast was well organized, friendly and plentiful. In general, it was a good place to stay, other than they need to think about improving the a/c, particularly for the top floor rooms.

We had a great experience. The hotel is beautiful and clean. The Front desk staff was efficient and helpful at both check-in / checkout, eating recommendations, and booking taxi appointments for us. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel and return to at the airport. There are plenty of coffee bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Breakfast service was excellent. The rooftop bar is pleasant, prices are very affordable, and it's a nice place to sit. My wife is diabetic and could not eat some of the items offered on the dinner menu. The manager talked with the chef and they modified a dish to meet my wife's needs - 5 stars!!! Would highly recommend pre-booked day tours (Viatour do great tours). We did 4 tours - Tablao Flamenco Cordobe with dinner, Gothic Quarter Tapas, History and wine tour, Market Tour & Paella Workshop, and Montserrat & Wine Tour. All meeting locations for the tours were very close to the hotel. We would definitely stay here again. Fantastic location for the Gothic Quarter and walking distance to most of the main sightseeing hotspots.

Well ran hotel. Very central. Born/Gothic district easy walking distance. Metro just across road. Very good choice at breakfast. Staff excellent. Courtesy table in reception nice touch. Roof top bar a nice extra. Would definitely stay again
