Spotless hotel in a great location
Gemma H
I was debating between four and five stars for our stay at this hotel. I decided to go with five as apart from a couple of small things I couldnt really fault it.
Room: Our junior suite with a sea view was absolutely beautiful. The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious and we loved the view of the sea.
Location: The location of the hotel is excellent, five/ten minutes walk from the history of the old town. Great coffee shop two minutes away.
Dont make the mistake we did and book a flight to Barcelona, it was a very expensive taxi ride! Fly to Reus instead.
Beach: We were unable to go to the beach as it was a bit further than we expected and would have meant an uphill walk on the way back, which was a shame.
Pools: The downstairs pool area is nice. Plenty of sunbeds and a cute little bar serving smoothies and snacks. The pool is quite deep so my 11-year-old daughter was unable to stand up. They also dont allow inflatables in the pool. The rooftop pool is shallower, but there arent many sunbeds.
Staff: staff were friendly and helpful. The guy by the pool was a little strict. I was about to get in and he told me I needed to shower first :)
Overall, I would recommend this hotel and would definitely come back.

Fantastic Staff, Highly Recommend

We did not stay here however we wish to highlight the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
We are staying at a different H10 hotel in the next town, and needed a taxi back there with our baby.
The concierge started his friendly approach the moment we stepped foot in the carpark, and assisted us all the way to the front desk, and into the cab once it arrived.
The hotel staff member who arranged the taxi were also helpful and friendly.
On another visit to this area, I would stay here based on the service we received today.

Never mind the Casino, this hotel is definitely a winner !

I would say this is definitely the best hotel experience we have had. Last year we stayed in a four star hotel in Ibiza but the Imperial Tarraco was absolutely another level !
From the moment a smartly dressed guy from Reception picked up our bags to the moment we checked out a week later we were met with nothing but friendly efficiency from all the immaculately turned out staff
We booked a classic mare room with a fabulous sea view and its definitely worth any extra cost. The room had a huge comfortable double bed with 6 pillows, although 2 each was plenty for us. Ample storage space - wardrobe incorporated a safe, well stocked mini-bar in the fridge, a pod style coffee maker ( which also included a kettle, although this wasnt mentioned), four good sized drawers and was where the full sized ironing board and iron were stored. There were also additional drawers either side of the bed.
The bathroom featured dual washbasins and the sizeable shower cabinet had both a rainfall shower and strong jetted detachable head, both easily controlled to provide plenty of hot water and all taps were of the lift and push to left/right rather than having to twist and turn. Fresh towels and complementary toiletries are provided.
The Wi-fi is exceptional and reaches onto the balcony and every area of the hotel, including the pool areas with no buffering issues at all. The TV has numerous channels in a few languages and can also receive Netflix etc via your mobile phone.
There are two swimming pool areas - one on the roof has a plunge style pool, small restaurant/ bar area and absolutely spectacular views of the City, Roman amphitheater and sea; the ground floor pool is slightly larger (though not massive) surrounded by well kept gardens and has a quirky Citroen type snack and drink truck. Breakfast and evening meals are served in the main restaurant although in comparison to the choice of buffet breakfast the main menu is quite limited but the quality of both is high. The choice of hot food at breakfast time changes slightly each day but the choice of cold options is extensive (and delicious) .Breakfast was available from 7am till 1030am, snacks were served from 1pm till 6pm in the bar and the main restaurant opened at 8pm, although due to the World Cup the food times in the bar were changing. Room service was also available and was quite heavily patronised by other hotel guests while we were there. Bar prices were fairly reasonable for a four star hotel, but be warned the only place that accepts cash is Reception, otherwise payment is either by card or charged to the room.
Unfortunately the bar staff, although great, seem to be responsible for dealing with Room Service requests so will often disappear into the kitchen area so dont expect not to wait for service but this is more of a minor inconvenience than a major issue.
The whole hotel is spotlessly clean and maintained and even with the casino attached we hardly heard any noise during the night.
Access to the rooms is by digitally read card key, not the horrific type you have to insert in a slot, but by a simple tap to read.
Our room had air conditioning but apart from one night we found the temperature fine just by using the ceiling fan above the bed.
The lifts although very efficient were on the small size and as the Tarragona Triathlon was on during our stay we would sometimes be greeted by an athlete and a high end racing bike balanced upright on its back wheel as the doors opened !
If anyone is staying in Tarragona I would highly recommend the H10 Imperial Tarraco, and if we ever return this would definitely be the only hotel I would consider.

When I arrived, the front desk staff made me feel really welcome with a smile and a lovely welcome cocktail. Check-in was quick and easy and the gentlemen at the reception was very helpful, giving me great recommendations for places to visit in Tarragona and some good local restaurants.
The Hotel itself is beautiful and the rooftop bar has amazing views and relaxed atmosphere. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and will be coming back.
