H10 Cambrils Playa, Salou - Cambrils

We have just returned from a most enjoyable 7 night stay at H10 Cambrils Playa. The hotel is an ideal location, in close proximity to the beach and has good transport links to Cambrils and Salou. A big thank you to all the wonderful staff at H10 Cambrils. On arrival, we were greeted at Reception by Julia, who was most welcoming, helpful and informative, and no task was too great for her. We would also like to give a special mention to Abril, who we met on a regular basis throughout our stay and she was also very helpful, friendly and informative. Another word of thanks goes to Juanco, who went out of his way to help us make our trip to Barcelona a success, by booking the "Open top Bus" and entrance tickets to "Sagrada Familia". The hotel is very modern, clean and well maintained, with a good sized swimming pool. We stayed half board and were delighted we did, as there was lots to choose from for both the breakfasts and evening meals. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to any future visitors. H10 hotels never disappoint and we are already looking forward to making a return visit. Donal, Bernie & Michael

Booked a trip with a friend only 3 weeks before the stay. We chose to go half board to make it easier for food and the food didnt disappoint. There was enough variety of food for me to always have two plates, and you could eat quite healthily (but tastily) too if you wanted to. There was always a fish and sea food option, meat, always chips and pasta to feed even the fussiest of eaters. The hotel itself was in good condition and clean. The room and balcony were a little on the small side and not much wardrobe storage, meaning we lived out of cases which occupied floor space. That said, they were comfortable, lovely air con to retreat to after a hot and sticky day. Slept like a log, comfy beds and the shower also offered a warm, good pressured water flow. Having a small fridge in the room was handy for keeping drinks and water in the room. My only advice would be if you like an early night, dont go for pool view as you would hear the hotel entertainment until very late at night. The pool was nice and a good size, not too small but the pool area still felt quite intimate. The loungers were nice and good quality. Staff - everyone we encountered was polite but some staff just stood out. Two of the entertainment team (Ali and the blonde haired guy) were high energy and really engaging. They offered some comedy and I just dont know how they keep going for so many hours!!! I love the twice daily H10 dance on the stage! Abril was a hostess as the restaurant and reception. She checked us in and was present throughout our stay. Always polite and helpful, nothing too much. The male host in the restaurant was also wonderful, I loved that he would entertain my efforts to practice my Spanish! This hotel is very popular with Spanish speaking tourists and therefore food and culture is geared more towards them, which personally I liked. I come on holiday to get away from Brits! But if youre the type who might feel out of sorts without English dishes and being surrounded by British accents, perhaps consider another resort. Cambrils is lovely, and the beaches are pretty. Id definitely stay again. Thank you H10 Cambrils Playa for a lovely holiday, its just what I needed!

The entrance to the hotel is stunning and what you would expect of a H10 - that familiar smell and those recognisable floor tiles. Surrounding the reception area is a mezzanine book ended with glass lifts and a marble spiral staircase to the centre. It gives Towering Inferno style glamour. The receptionists are warm & welcoming and check in is an easy process. The rooms are smaller than expected but there is enough space for two people to move around - but not lounge. It is clean and modern with traditional tiling framing the roomy walk in shower. The outside balcony has two chairs and a table - again, small & compact. Tea making facilities are available but at request and additional cost. On first look, the pool seems small but it is actually larger than anticipated. It is the perfect temperature and makes for a delightful dip on hot days. The sun loungers are in excellent condition and there are plenty - no need to rush and dump your towels. The lifeguard keeps an eye and any sun loungers left for a longer period of time, have towels removed. Throughout the day there is a fantastic animación team full of enthusiasm and energy. Its hard to not join in on the activities. A huge plus for this hotel is the access to free, chilled water throughout the day. The restaurant is adorned with stylish furnishings. Although it is small, there is always a good selection of food available at breakfast and dinner. There is a heavy emphasis on fruit & salad so if you are wanting a full fry up, you will be disappointed. The gentleman who is one of the restaurant managers, has charm & charisma and is a welcome greeting on an evening. There is always a selection of fresh meat & fish alongside pasta, salad & some delicious form of potato. So the downsides - This hotel is catered heavily for Spanish guests so bare this in mind. Although it is a stunning place and there are no complaints, it is lacking in what I would call British expectations such as the lack of kettle in the room & dinner service (waiters not being able to give wine recommendations or pouring it for you). I also miss having a teapot at breakfast. The guests are mostly Spanish also which could leave you feeling slightly out of place. I would also say, although the pool area floor is clear of rubbish, due to the number of plants & trees, it can get quite messy through the day. All in all, I would happily return to this hotel and the beautiful area of Cambrils.

Lets start with the good bits clean, nice big pool. Room done every day. Food not to bad managed to find things I liked. Most of the reception staff were lovely apart from one who was so rude to me and my daughter we were in total shock. Negatives no ball games, rubber rings, etc allowed at all in the pool. Saw a few kids crying because of this including my grand children. It took two hours on the easy jet transfer to get to the hotel so be prepared for a long journey. Not much to do for kids half hour entertainment so late 9 oclock evening. If you want a nice quiet holiday near the beach perfect. Not really for kids.
