Pretty good on the whole

Hotel was nice enough, and room (a family room) was a decent size. More than enough for my wife and I and two 17 year olds. enough sockets to go around to keep everyone charged, though you will need your own USB adaptors as the sockets are just standard mains power ones.
Check in was okay, but I'm glad we had family already checked in when we got there, as there was no secure luggage storage, just a room that anyone could walk into unsupervised. You can access your room using the armbands they supply, but these were a bit uncomfortable to wear (scratchy edges). Not dreadful, but if you're sensitive to it, a bit of an irritation.
Pool areas were pretty decent, though the main one was a bit crazy for sunbed access. Came down to breakfast on our first day and heard crowd noise as we got to the bottom of the stairs. Thought it was a queue for breakfast but instead it was the queue to claim sunbeds! The rooftop pool is nice for chilling out in, but too shallow and small for swimming. Nice view from up there. Entertainment team were okay, but nothing to get excited about.
The restaurant was a bit of a disappointment. We were half board, and I'm glad I didn't go all inclusive. Veggie options were limited and uninspiring, and there didn't seem to be any real daily variations. Drink options were limited. Occasionally there were hot drinks available, but other that you'd need to bring water in yourself, or pay extra for drinks whilst in there. There's the option to switch your half board meal from dinner to lunch if there's availability, if you do so in advance. We did this one day , but when they day arrived they had no record of it. Eventually let us in, but the guy on duty made us feel like we were trying it on :-(
Location is pretty good. Ten minute easy walk to the amusement parks, same to the beach, and indeed to pretty much anywhere in town. Lots of of pubs and restaurants in easy reach. Can't fault the location
A bit disappointed with Salou itself. Very much a package holiday vibe, with lots of identical looking hotels and shops wherever you looked. Great if that's what you're looking for, not so good if you'd prefer something with a bit of culture or variety

Great hotel just the odd wee tweaks to make it even better

Before coming to H10 Salauris palace I had read a lot of reviews the main thing that worried me was that the food had gone downhill to previous years and that it was cold - I dont know what you expect when going to a hotel buffet but you couldnt fault it for choice etc there was
always something you could eat and yes it could be a bit cold by the time youd been round the whole buffet and then back to your seat but they had microwaves you could heat it up if it really bothered you
Another point that was made was that it was a basic 3 star hotel not a 4 again I dont know what kind of hotels you stay in but the hotel was lovely, clean and modern, yes you dont get a kettle in your room but thats really not going to ruin my holiday. The entertainment could be unnecessarily loud at times fair enough use a microphone to get peoples attention on what activity you are providing but we dont really need a running microphone commentary the whole hour its on when your just wanting to relax and not join in that being said there is a lovely rooftop area if you want to escape all the noise which we thought was a great option. The entertainment at night was poor but again didnt really bother us.
The hotel itself is in great location for portaventura and the beach front. Unfortunately 2 days into our holiday my mum had a bad accident the manager of the hotel Esmerelda was a godsend and so lovely to us all and we wouldnt of had a clue what to do in that situation and nothing was a bother to her, all the other staff were helpful and kind too.
So all in all a great hotel apart from the odd wee thing but it didnt affect our holiday and we were having such a lovely time before my mum had her accident.
