H10 Big Sur, Tenerife

3rd Booking in a year, great location, hotel is excellent and rooms very very clean. The front side from the street probably needs a lick of point due to water marks but hey - not bad. Only gripe is they used to give you bottles of complimentary water each day, now its the first night only, for the cost of a water and the price you pau not much to ask. Will it deter me booking again, nope

We stayed for 5 nights in November and had a lovely stay, received a warm welcome (cocktail on arrival and some macaroons ).. This is a good hotel , lovely decor, very welcoming with lots of other positives. Situated just on the outer edge of Los Cristianos beach, which makes it quiet and just a few mins walk to the main centre. Biggest strength is the staff, so welcoming and friendly, always smiling and can't do enough for you. We make the effort to speak a little Spanish which is well received. Pool area is very nice, there are plenty of sunbeds although only about 1/4 of them have sun all day which does mean that people queue to get to these from around 9am (the beds are roped off till 9.30) and its a bit of a stampede but only affects you if you're desperate for sun all day, beach is only a few mins walk and just 12 for 2 beds and a brolly if its an issue. FYI Some beds around the pool are designated disabled users. Rooms - we upgraded to a seaview and was 100% worth it, amazing view of sea front and harbour. Room was decent, plenty of wardrobe space, a coffee machine (no kettle though!), bathroom is small but well appointed. Beds were a tad firm but you can ask for a mattress topper. Robes and slippers provided. We found cleaners to be efficient. There is a safe which was free to use. Food - we found the food pretty decent, with a range of choices, some self serve in the cool plates or on warmers and some cooked to order like steaks or noodles (the fresh cook offering changes each night). Lovely little mini desserts to choose from too. Breakfast similar with plenty to suit diet and cultural norms (they also offer cava with breakfast which is nice). Some times are busier (7pm, 9am) and if you want to sit outside you may have to wait, we much preferred sitting outside on terrace then being cramped in main dining area which felt more like a canteen vibe. We ate out one evening but found the food and experience in hotel so nice didn't bother again (we had a half board option which turned out to be fantastic value for money). Bar areas are great and super chilled, there is evening entertainment each night from 9.30-10.30pm, of decent quality. Need to knows:- The main demographic of this hotel is retired people, we are a couple in our early 50's and were the youngest on average by at least 15 years (with one or two exceptions) this didn't bother us at all but some younger people may feel like they are in a retirement village... People can smoke on their balconies and outside areas and this sometimes wafted into our room. The drinks are really good and reasonably priced, as are the bar snacks. There is a small roof terrace with sunbeds. We had a fab time and would return (and I am pretty fussy!)

From the moment we walked into H10 Big Sur, we were warmly welcomed with a glass of Prosecco and genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and attentive staff. It was a lovely first impression that set the tone for our entire stay. The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily to a high standard. We had everything we could possibly needfrom quality toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, and even toothpaste, to thoughtful extras like a plush dressing gown and slippers, which made our stay extra comfortable. The pool area was also impeccably clean and well maintained, offering a relaxing atmosphere perfect for unwinding. Overall, H10 Big Sur exceeded our expectations. It's clear the staff take great pride in their work and care deeply about guest experience. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and will definitely be returning ourselves!

The coach drops you a short walk from the hotel entrance, as the entrance isn't big enough for the coach, this wasn't an big issue, just to make you aware if you are any mobility issues. You will have to be in the same place when you are collected and not in the hotel lobby, something to bare in mind. Arrived at the hotel to a warm welcome and a cold glass of cava, check-in was quick. Our bedroom was ready which was a bonus. We had booked a front facing balcony room on the fifth floor. Had a great view of the passers-by and the sea. The hotel was room was great, beds were really comfortable. The balcony has two chairs and a table. The little extras - Nespresso machine and pods that were replenished daily, along with a couple of biscuits and 2 bottled waters. The cups were on the small side, so we asked one of the housekeepers and she provided 2 larger cups. The daily cleaning was to a high standard and we accordingly left a good tip. Wish we had tipped daily, as there were different housekeepers every day, will remember this for our next visit. We were provided with two good quality towels, which could be changed when necessary around the pool. The pool area was opened daily at 9.30 am. Some people chose to queue to get a 'particular spot', we didn't feel the need as there was always lots of beds available and this is one of the reasons we chose this hotel, not getting stressed about getting a bed, you are on holiday and deserve for it to be stress free. There are also two small roof top terraces, we only used one of these on the last day, to give it a go. The were very clean and there was a shower if you wanted to refresh yourself. The beds on the sun deck had thick cushions and there were also full sized beds there too .... it does get hot up there as you can't feel any breeze. We are not fussy eaters and always found there was plenty of choice, the staff were in the main very polite and friendly. I'm sorry to say there was an exception to this. The breakfast manager in the restaurant was bordering on being rude, he stomped around, never smiled, barked orders ... so much so I mentioned it to the lady that took your room details in the evening, she did say she would pass my concerns onto management. The breakfast manager became a talking point amongst quite a number of guests on how rude he was. Such a shame as the evening restaurant manager was the polar opposite and couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. The entertainment was varied, some acts were better than others, the entertainment usually started about 9.15 ... some nights it was on till 10pm and other nights till 10.15. Shame it doesn't start a little earlier. The bar prices are a little more than local bars, but not expensive for a hotel. It was nice to have an afternoon drink and be in the cool in the open bar area/terrace. The foyer always smelt lovely. Found the reception staff to always be helpful. I reported a plug in the bedroom wasn't working and it was repair within the day. There is a local market on twice a week and it is literally within 5 minutes of the hotel. The hotel is central for lots of walks and shops/bars. Would I go back, in a HEART BEAT ... look forward to a return visit in 2024. TIPS - If your budget allows book a balcony. Enjoy the restaurant terrace, lovely to be eating outside. You can enjoy a free coffee and one cake (you will have to share) at Mike's within the hotel, this is every day I think its 4-5pm, then there is happy hour in the same place, only downside to this ... there isn't much outdoor seating and its mainly in the sun and boy does it get hot while you are sat there. There is a small pool table and table tennis table at the side of the pool for a small fee. There was exercise in the pool most days provided by an external company, it was good to watch them all :-) ...
