Top hotel.

Overall a fantastic hotel with fantastic staff. I could offer a few suggestions but they might only be to my taste. The one negative I would say is the bathroom. The over bath shower is both difficult and dangerous to get in and out of with the screen only opening about 2 inches before smashing into the sink unit, there is no anti slip mat and no handles to hold onto. Does anyone take a bath when on holiday. Given the "average" age ofthe guests maybe it's time to upgrade to walk in showers.
This is our 3rd visit to this hotel and we love it, (except for the overbath shower).

Good and bad

We visited this hotel for a week end of March start of April. It was a bit last-minute and we booked via H10 direct as it was cheaper than what TUI was offering and didnt want a basic room . I was looking forward to coming back as we visited many times as a family before it became adults only .
The hotel has a large repeat clientele of mainly older adult adults that come many times a year. This is evident as would say the age range is fifty plus, but not a problem for us.
I enjoyed the peaceful sunbathing and calm atmosphere around the pool and privilege outdoor areas. The are activities and entertainment if thats your thing and we saw the ABBA act and felt it was good and typical of the usual hotel entertainment abroad.
Food
The bocaina restaurant wasnt for us on the 2nd floor. It felt like a noisy canteen where in each corner of the restaurant there are clearing away stations . It was hustle and bustle and constant clanking and clattering of glasses and cutlery and felt loud and not relaxing. Plus people filling water bottles up with water by the juice stand and queues for the cooked section made it feel very busy/hectic.
I felt the food wasnt quality we went once for the Mexican evening and it wasnt for us . I felt it was quantity not quality its not a criticism I am just saying its not my expectation . I also didnt like at lunchtime they only open a quarter of the dining room so you are squashed in like sardines in can. The tables are too close together and it definitely makes their life easier and once they have cleared a table for lunch it was set up for evening. So this limited where you could sit at lunch even more than usual. One day we indicated where we wanted to sit and the tall guy agreed to let us. However a waitress who was laying tables starting arguing with him saying no . She cleary didnt want to be inconvenienced to relay the table again . I did say dont bother I can see its too much hassle. I did ask him about why we are crammed into a quarter of the dining room and he said we are short staffed but it happened all week and only at lunch. I get they cant open up the whole room but half at least give people space we have paid our money.
I also ate in the pool bar La Geria again this was a one time experience. I ordered a club sandwich , it wasnt even toasted and it was thrown together . It was not cut into halves or quarters or nicely presented. My other half had buffalo wings and again these werent a good standard.
The plus side was we could eat in the kasbah. This was more my expectation and it was lovely food and service for breakfast and dinner. I would have liked to see more of a differentiation of blueberries and raspberries in the Kasbah fruit section, however it was lovely to have poached eggs or a full English served. Evening meals were lovely in the Kasbah but again the same menu for the week , a few specials would have been nice to add some variety as we ate here every night. Dennis was always friendly and helpful in this restaurant, as were the other staff.
The privilege areas were immaculate and well replenished with quality high end drinks. I think the all inclusive was a great option personally and also enjoyed a wide variety of wines on the AI.
The room and bed was great and clean, it would have benefited from an internal door to minimise the corridor noise as they do mop and carpet clean the corridors which can be heard from inside your room but it wasnt horrendous.
We liked the top bar on the reception where the was easy listening back ground music or a pianist. The outdoor area was also for a lovely view however the tables and chairs appeared tired and rusty and needed replacing .
I probably wouldnt return unless the hotel had a refit and became a five star.

Enjoyable stay at the H10 Timanfaya Palace

We have just returned home after a very enjoyable 7 night stay celebrating our wedding anniversary at this lovely hotel. After a quick check-in we were surprised to receive a bottle of cava on ice and a box of chocolates as an anniversary gift from the hotel in our room, many thanks for this nice gesture. We had booked a sea-view room, but our first room was adjacent to the large kitchen extractor fan and had an irritating mechanical noise, but on the second day after discussing with helpful reception staff we were moved to another nice and quiet room the other side of the hotel. Everything else about the hotel, the location, the food, the entertainment, the cleanliness, was all good, and all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Most guests are older with a few younger couples, but the whole ambience is respectful and relaxing. Very many thanks for a lovely holiday. PS the weather was lovely also.

Fantastic hotel

This is our favourite hotel in the Canaries. We were All inclusive and it was definitely worth it. Breakfast is brilliant with almost everything you could possible want. We like the Buffet for dinner and again a vast choice is on offer.
The entertainment team , Mattea , Filipe and Eleanora were great fun. They worked so hard to please everyone. The cocktail and Mojo sauce making, at lunchtime was great. It was a laugh.
The hotel is well run and staff all friendly and obliging. We will return again soon.
