Lovely Hotel with Thoughtful Accessibility
Helen S
We stayed at the H10 Timanfaya Palace for 10 days in July and had a wonderful holiday. From the moment we arrived, we received a warm, friendly and efficient welcome, which set the tone for the rest of our stay.
Before travelling, I contacted the hotel to discuss my accessibility requirements and to make sure the facilities would meet my needs. They responded promptly to my email, answered all of my questions and confirmed that an adapted room would be available. They also confirmed that I could use a hired mobility scooter throughout the hotel and explained the sunbed reservation system for guests with reduced mobility. Everything they promised was in place when we arrived, which gave me confidence before travelling and made for a very smooth start to our holiday.
I am a wheelchair user and also use a mobility scooter and crutches, so accessibility is incredibly important to me. I hired a mobility scooter before travelling, which was delivered directly to the hotel and collected again at the end of our stay. I was able to take the scooter to my room and access all areas of the hotel with ease using the lifts and ramps.
We were allocated an adapted room with the added bonus of a beautiful sea view. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped, with a walk-in shower, shower stool and grab rails beside the toilet, making my stay much more comfortable. One small suggestion would be to install a mirror above the dressing table. As a wheelchair user, there wasnt anywhere suitable to sit and do my makeup because the mirrors were positioned for someone standing. Fortunately, I had packed my own light-up tabletop mirror, so if youre staying in an adapted room and wear makeup, Id recommend bringing one with you.
I felt completely comfortable throughout my stay and never felt that my mobility needs prevented me from enjoying the hotel. The adapted rooms are conveniently located on the same level as reception, while the restaurant, pool and other facilities are on lower floors. The lifts were more than large enough for my mobility scooter, were quick to arrive and I never found myself waiting long. There are also accessible toilets in both the reception area and by the pool, which was very reassuring.
One of the hotels best accessibility features was the reserved sunbed system. Reception provided me with a laminated sign to place on my chosen sunbed for the duration of our stay, allowing me to remain close to the pool, which made getting in and out much easier. There was also a pool hoist available for guests who needed it.
The only disappointment was that the main pool is not heated. Even in July, the water was very cold. While relaxing around the pool, many guests commented on the temperature, and it seemed to discourage quite a few people from swimming. I genuinely think heating the main pool throughout the year would make a huge difference and would be appreciated by so many guests.
The entertainment took place each evening in the disco room. It wasnt quite to our taste, although many of the guests we spoke to thoroughly enjoyed the nightly shows. We felt the room itself is looking a little dated and would benefit from a refurbishment, which might encourage more people to use it.
Instead, we spent most evenings in the reception bar listening to the excellent live musicians, including a pianist, saxophonist and singers. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, and we loved sitting there playing cards and unwinding. The only suggestion Id make is that the sofas are beginning to lose their support and could benefit from being reupholstered.
Our bed was initially a little too firm, but after mentioning it to reception they quickly arranged for a mattress topper to be fitted. This resolved the issue immediately and was another example of the excellent customer service we received throughout our stay.
We stayed on a half-board basis and found the food to be of a good standard. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, and we always found something we enjoyed in the evening buffet. Our favourite was the Italian evening, where fresh pasta dishes were cooked to order and were absolutely delicious.
As a disabled guest, I do think one simple improvement could make dining even more accessible. Reserving a few tables near the front or along the sides of the restaurant for guests with mobility difficulties would reduce the distance needed to walk between tables to reach the buffet. It seems like a small change that could make a big difference.
We ate lunch most days at the pool bar. The food was good, although the menu is fairly limited, so a little more variety would be welcome for guests staying longer. One feature we really liked was the option to swap your half-board evening meal for lunch by letting reception know in advance. They provide a voucher, which offers great flexibility and is an excellent idea.
The hotels location is ideal. A supermarket is only a few minutes walk away, and we also enjoyed an excellent Chinese restaurant nearby, which Id happily recommend. We visited Playa Blanca and the harbour several times, enjoying a few drinks while looking out to sea. The promenade is accessible for wheelchairs and mobility scooters, although it is a little uneven in places.
If you have an early excursion or departure, the hotel can also arrange an early breakfast, which is another thoughtful touch.
One thing we quickly discovered is that Lanzarote is much windier than we had expected. It soon became obvious why the parasols are fixed securely to the ground and why the evening entertainment is held indoors. Even in July, we found a light jacket was useful in the evenings.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. The staff are genuinely warm and friendly, the hotel is clean, well maintained and accessible, and every small issue we encountered was dealt with promptly and professionally.
As someone who always researches accessibility carefully before travelling, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend the H10 Timanfaya Palace to other guests with mobility needs. The hotel doesnt just advertise accessible facilitiesit delivers them. My comments are intended as constructive suggestions because the hotel already does so many things well. If the main pool were heated and a few small accessibility improvements were considered, it would be close to perfect.

Fantastic Holiday!

Tenth visit for us, and the first for my son & daughter in law. We have stayed at many establishments on the island and this is by far the best. As it was a special birthday for myself we decided to book Privilege all inclusive and I'm so glad we did! We particularly liked the tranquil sunbed area and the Privilege lounge was very comfortable and a lovely place to have a snack and a drink. All the staff from housekeeping to management work so hard and have a professional 'can do' attitude. We found all the staff to be helpful and friendly and we were greeted like old friends. The food is amazing and all drinks are branded. We particularly enjoyed the cocktails in the piano bar, and my son and daughter in law were very impressed and had a fantastic time. We ate at the Kasbah restaurant several times and were made to feel special by lovely staff. Already making plans for our return!

Lovely hotel but pool area could do with thorough daily cleaning

We stayed at the H10 Timanfaya Palace for 10 nights in July 2026 as a couple aged 26 and 27. We specifically booked this hotel through TUI because of its adults-only concept, which was exactly what we were looking for.
On arrival, we were welcomed with a glass of cava and received a thorough explanation of the hotel facilities from reception, along with our all-inclusive wristbands. As we had arrived on an early flight from London, our room wasnt quite ready, but reception took my phone number and called promptly at 1:00 pm to let us know it was available.
The staff throughout the hotel were excellent. They were friendly, attentive and genuinely proactive. Both the lobby bar and entertainment bar offer table service, and staff were always quick to notice when our drinks were running low, regularly asking if wed like another. The all-inclusive drinks selection was impressive, with premium branded spirits and recognisable soft drinks such as Coca-Cola and Fanta. Cocktails in the main bars were freshly made and very enjoyable. The only slight disappointment was the pool bar cocktails, which are dispensed from a machine and were a little too sweet for our taste, so we mainly stuck to beer and spirit mixers around the pool.
The buffet restaurant was another highlight. The food was plentiful, fresh and varied, with live cooking stations available at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Despite some reviews suggesting otherwise, we found there was plenty of variety each day and always something to suit all tastes.
As part of our all-inclusive package, we were also able to dine once in the Kasbah restaurant. We probably wouldnt have booked it had it not been included, but were very glad we did. The service was outstanding, the food was excellent and it made for a lovely evening.
The only real issue we experienced during our stay was the cleanliness of the pool area. On previous holidays in Spain and elsewhere, weve always noticed the pool deck and sunbeds being thoroughly cleaned each morning. Unfortunately, that didnt appear to be happening consistently here.
For example, the same large coffee stain remained on the pool deck for around a week, recycling bins occasionally overflowed, tables werent always wiped down and drink rings were often left behind. As the pools are saltwater, dried salt deposits built up overnight on many of the sunbeds, making them look unclean before they had even been used for the day. While none of this ruined our holiday, it wasnt quite what we expected from a four-star hotel.
We initially raised our concerns with TUI through the app but unfortunately didnt receive much assistance. We then spoke directly with reception, where the same gentleman who had checked us in (Im unsure of his name, but he had a ponytail tied in a bun) was extremely helpful. He took the time to look through the photographs Id taken, asked follow-up questions, noted our room number and assured us he would pass our comments on to management.
The following morning, it was immediately noticeable that our feedback had been acted upon. Management were visible around the pool area, the bins had been emptied and the general standards appeared to have improved. However, we still noticed that the sunbeds werent being properly cleaned, with suncream residue and salt deposits remaining, while drink rings could still be seen on some of the tables.
Later that evening, we returned to our room to find a handwritten apology, along with a complimentary bottle of white wine and a cheeseboard. It was a thoughtful gesture that we genuinely appreciated and demonstrated that the hotel values guest feedback and is willing to respond when concerns are raised.
The evening entertainment was also excellent. There was usually a pianist, saxophonist or guitarist performing in the lobby bar from around 8:30 pm before the main show began in the entertainment bar at 9:30 pm. Every performance we watched was enjoyable, but The Gentleman on the Road and Code Red were particular highlights of our stay.
Overall, we had a wonderful holiday, with the food, drinks and exceptional staff service being the standout features. We also appreciated the hotels response to our feedback and the thoughtful gesture of the complimentary wine and cheeseboard. However, we do feel the pool area and surrounding grounds would benefit from a thorough deep clean, along with consistent daily cleaning of the sunbeds and outdoor furniture. Addressing these housekeeping standards would elevate what is already a very good hotel into an excellent one.
