H10 Timanfaya Palace, Lanzarote

Another wonderful holiday at this amazing and welcoming hotel. The TP is a beautifully designed hotel, such that, although it was full to capacity, it never felt at all busy or overcrowded anywhere. Hence it is peaceful, very comfortable and so relaxing - exactly what I need and enjoy. All this is facilitated by the wonderful staff (& Director) who go that extra mile to make everything run smoothly and making guests feel special. As a solo traveller I feel very comfortable here and will be returning very soon to enjoy, once again, good food, lovely rooms, and great facilities.

Here at the moment and enjoying a splendid birthday. Weather beautiful, hotel fab as always... Room well just the best ever!! What keeps us coming back some 20 times??? This hotel and all the staff Never disappoint.. Thank you all so much. You know you've got a winner Jose when guests come back time and time again( even if we do occasionally stray to Ibiza) lol.. Try not to compare it to The Timanfaya Linda... Impossible she says... Back again with a vengeance as we say xxxx

Another enjoyable 2 week stay. We have been here several times over the past few years though this time we first became conscious of how guests were mostly in the autumn/winter of their lives. Perhaps appropriate for the time of year and, lets face it, we are both in our 70's notwithstanding being fit and able. As before the hotel had a young and enthusiastic animation team in action, who I rather suspect would have preferred to be working with a younger audience, which might have been more appropriate. We were half board as usual and the food in the main restaurant was good and plentiful. It was, however, very busy and noisy and so, for a more relaxing dining experience, on alternate evenings we opted to use the excellent Kasbah a la carte restaurant on the lower ground floor. This is free to "privilege" guests though even underprivileged half board guests get a hefty 40% discount. There were a couple of niggles this year from my point of view: Whilst only applying a returnable deposit in the past the hotel now actually charges for pool towels. Yes, you get a free one to start with, but then have to pay a euro each time you change it. As a matter of hygiene I consider this a retrograde step as it discourages replacement of dirty towels . It is also rather illogical as irrespective of the length of stay you only get one free towel. Also you are now expected to pay 2.8 euros in the restaurant for what appears to be tap water in unsealed plastic bottles. On one occasion when we insisted on just having a glass of water we got it, but it was embarrassing to have to do that so usually we just did without water with our meal. Previously I have given the hotel 5* but - whilst I would still recommend a stay there - in view of the aforementioned I am only giving it 4* this time.

Great room and view. Always cleaned with new towels when asked. The food was excellent and varied. Pools were good, although two were chilly. Ideal location to visit town and swim at Flamingo Beach. Overall, a great place for a holiday location.
