Reviews
Some positives with the odd glitch
Andrew_James_pep84

Stayed here with my wife for 11 nights and family who came for a shorter break in-between as celebrating a birthday. The excellent aspects : Location: Great , within the quiet beach area of Playa del Cura , relatively flat area on the sea front with nice little beach walk way located next to some other good hotels and a little commercial centre just a few mins walk away with a shop/ supermarket and a couple of quiet/laid back bars and restaurants. Here you are in a good base between the beautiful small town of Puerto de Mogan and the bigger resort of Puerto Rico and also the very nice Amadores beach is just up the road. Taxi rank and public bus service is just a few mins up from the hotel were you can go to nearby bigger resorts easily or further afield to the city of Las Palmas in approx 50minutes-1 hour. Cleaning of Rooms: Your room is cleaned with fresh towels every single day and the housekeeping staff do a brilliant job , fresh bedding every 4 days. Very good service. The poolside and communal areas are also cleaned every morning. Animation staff/ night time entertainment: These Guys do a fantastic job to provide some day time activities with a friendly yet not in your face approach. They have a chat and a bit of a laugh but are professional in what they do. There is night time entertainment every night ranging from very good bands e.g. Beatles tribute and a soul/reggae act and also female solo singers who did a more Latin /Spanish set with pop songs aswell. Also good acrobatic shows. 1 or 2 acts were not so good, but cant really grumble when they are providing this for guests every night which is good as there is not much close by other than the Irish pub and another bar in the commercial centre which have occasional live music on. Good/average aspects: Reception/ bar / waiting chef staff: Overall moderate to good service, mostly friendly and approachable and the reception staff appeared to act on issues in a timely manner. You can see at times the bar staff etc are short staffed and are rushed, resulting in not providing the full service they would no doubt like to, but all in all do try their best for you most of the time. Food: All inclusive food can get repetitive in any kind of hotel, but here it was quite the same most days although there was some kind of attempts at theme nights e.g. Mexican / burgers etc. At times some of the food was lukewarm to cold, however the best aspects of the food was a wide variety of different fresh fruits and wide variety of quality deserts. The meat and sea food was just ok to decent most of the time and pizza was always good. Rooms: Junior suite was fairly modern and decently furnished , size wise it was spacious enough with plenty of storage space and shelves , x2 TVs one in small lounge area and bathroom was open to rest of the room. Beds very comfy but single beds together instead of a full double. Balcony had the requested pool and sea view but chairs and table on balcony were a little bit small. Negatives: The poolside snack bar is only open for food between 3pm -5pm and closes for drinks at 6pm. I get it provides something between main meal times. However alongside drinks you also get your gelato/ ice cream from here during the day. One day I asked for an ice cream around 5.40pm and was told I could not have one as food had stopped and it was finished ( I get the sandwiches and burgers had finished ) however I had seen x2 people just 5 mins previously walk away with ice creams. The lady who was serving me was clearly having a bad day but she was extremely rude and spoke to me in a quite authoritative way , as I walked away I felt quite angry as It had been like being spoken to as a teacher would speak to child at school never mind a paying customer asking for a ice cream in an all inclusive hotel! What ever this womens problem was , it was embarrassing for her once I had spoken to management and was given the ice cream in the end! Totally unnecessary. Shower head in the room lacked pressure and trickled out at times, reported to reception on the first day but it was more or less the same after this and didnt want hassle of changing rooms. The al a carte costa fusion restaurant you get to dine in on one night of your stay was average /nothing special and was just really the restaurant food tarted up. Few very small ants in the room at times, reported to reception when first arrived and this did improve but they did occasionally return but they were tiny and the not biting type and mainly outside on balcony so did t bother us too much. When you book the hotel online it is quite misleading as Arial shots show x2 big pools and a few small adjoining bubble pools but when you get there you discover that the hotel is In fact split in half and the other half and other pool are now private and separated ( sold off years ago but was once part of full hotel before). The main negative was myself /wife and dad missing a day of our holiday due to being sick with bad stomaches. After speaking with other guests we found out at least 15-20 people had been ill and some staff too. I think this was a bug/virus and not food poising as the times we became ill did not coincide with after eating meals. This did not spoil our holiday as you do have to put it to one side somewhat when you feel better and get one your holiday, but it was an issue and reported to Jet 2 rep. Also appreciate that it is a difficult thing for hotel to deal with when a bug is going around as they don't want to put people off, One plus side it was noted that after this that the cleaning of communal areas was visibly upped with more staff appearing to be hired. To conclude: with the above issue this hotel is not a dirty hotel in fact quite the opposite as cleaning/ hygiene is clearly high to a standard most of the time , its just unfortunate as its inevitable that a bug/ virus will spread around in this kind of environment really easily as it would do in a school or home etc. Its clear this hotel is in transition from its brand change of la Branda to H10, changes were happening whilst we were there such as new flooring and on the last few days it was clear new cleaning staff and bar staff had been hired as they were being shown the job by other staff. This hotel as the right foundations to be a success , it just needs a few tweaks here and there. If you said would I come back here? I would say I wouldnt definitely , but yes quite possibly .

My totally honest review. I honestly think, things would have been better, if we hadnt been hit by the sickness bug at the hotel, which after speaking to other guests, we were not alone, and staff included were hit by this bug. Positives First Beautiful rooms, lounge area with TV Large bedrooms, comfortable beds. Lovely shower and bathroom area. Room cleanliness 1st class, cleaned everyday and if required towels changed daily. Decor of hotel, very modern. Staff - reception, very welcoming, very helpful. Animation Team - Brilliant, good fun if you wanted to join in, no pressure though. Entertainment, we saw some excellent entertainment, Tina Turner and Beatles Tribute first class. Bar staff - at times working solo but doing a fabulous job, always with a smile, branded drinks was a real bonus. Location, beautiful sea views Breakfast - brilliant choices, fresh made omelettes, lots of variety of breads, fruit, yoghurts. Food available for late arrival. Negatives After viewing photos of hotel, we were disappointed to find out, hotel is now only half size and instead of 3 pools there was only 1. Its wasnt too bad when we were on holiday because hotel wasnt full. Lunch and Evening Meal Some food I would say was lukewarm or even cold. Show cooking was ok, but what seemed to be a shortage of staff food when food was cooked there wasnt any staff to serve you (some items you couldnt help yourself), day of chicken skewers, a few skewers cooked but after over 10 minutes no staff to serve you. Soups were often verging on cold side. Lack of staff seemed to put pressure on those who were working. One member of staff snapped rather rudely to one of our party when we asked for something at the pool bar. 3 of our party caught the sickness bug, so each spent 24 hours in their rooms, after talking to other guests we heard at least 15 other people had been ill, also heard from staff they were short due to illness with sickness bug. I appreciate these things can happen, one person has a bug and it can spread. May be notices should have been placed around food areas reminding people to use sanitiser, although one day the sanitiser at restaurant was empty. Maintenance ongoing at the other half of the hotel, which now seems to be private residence so work/drilling/noise happened during our stay. May be our views of the hotel are not as good because of illness, and the hotel does seem to be in translation from being a Labranda Hotel to H10. Is it is I think the hotel is not a 4 Star, but a bit better then a 3 star. I hope anyone who has stayed at the hotel recently and was ill are now fully recovered. Thank You

Beautiful hotel with amazing staff !

10/10 We are currently on holiday, and i cannot tell you how welcoming the staff here are. We were welcomed by Alberto , who was SO nice , we arrived quite late and he asked us upon check in if we were hungry , he made sure we had food to eat which i found so generous. We arrived in our Junior suite room which is HUGE , with the best sea view. There is a huge mirror in the room, a lot of space for clothing to be put and a beautiful bathroom/shower which connects to the room. This hotel is absolutely beautiful, i cannot wait to finish my stay here !!!

H10 Costa Mogan Our Favourite place
Mark B

Hi we have been visiting this hotel since 2014 and although we have always enjoyed our stays. Also we have seen many improvements since then .In 2024 the hotel became part of the H10 family and the improvements continue. Now why do we like this hotel so much.... It is well away from the hustle and bustle of Porto Rico tucked away in a small village, On the shore Great sea views, nice beach, lovely clean rooms, excellent staff, Nice big swimming pool, big selection of food at meal times all inclusive premium drinks (not local stuff). If its a pleasant relaxing holiday your after with no trouble then this is the place ...
