H10 Mediterranean Village, Salou - Cambrils

Our experience at this hotel was very good. Hotel was very clean, airy and comfortable. Staff in Reception, Bars and Restaurants were helpful and hard working. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in 423 H with lovely big balcony and views of all the pools. Great air con and plenty of good quality toiletries. Towels changed daily with nice friendly cleaning staff. Only downfall found as we are not petite is the glass partition in the bath was fixed and restricted entry. ( no English tv channels - chanel ten late night had US CSI after 10pm) Two lifts in our block always available. Restaurant is large with plenty of variety of food areas labelled well. Plenty tables. Wine and water reasonably priced. We were half board and there were plenty of free drinks at breakfast. Nice bars with soft seating and ample table / chairs for entertainment. Outside stage was mostly used on our stay - acts were generally good with Misha, and Rock bands good fun. Plenty of sun beds. Pool bars and pizzaria on site by pools. Adult / baby and large pirate childrens pool. Small shop on site and bigger shop at next door hotel. Cashless except at reception to top up your wrist band which also doubles as your room key. Can pay by card and Revolut Card in all areas. Buss card available from Plana office at bottom of hotel road 3mins. (10.50 for ten trips and after only 6.50 top up for the 10 trips - tap card for multiple people) Bus stop at hotel barrier for Salou and bus stand outside Bus shop for La Pinada and Tarragona and airport. Overall lovely stay and would recommend for families.

My husband and I visited for a chillout week. Check in was super easy, tourist tax paid, and we were given a pool view room on the second floor, with a balcony that went round the corner of the building - room 222. The walls are paper thin, and we heard our neighbours conversations, alarm and toilet flushing. The pool area is very clean, stay away from the trees near the snack bar as a lot of birds use the trees as target practise ! Also, there are no inflatables in the pool, and the lifeguards are very strict on this. We didn't use the pizza restaurant on site, but we did use the supermarket, which I found to be very expensive, and not very inviting. The sun club hotel next door has a much better supermarket with fresh bread, ready meals if you are self catering, and fresh fruit and veg. The meals in the restaurant were of typical spanish hotel standard, but the food was cold. The microwave was in constant use to make the food warm. The only food that was served hot was the show cooking at the back of the restaurant. The amount of food left and wasted and the mess that some families leave the table in is nothing short of disgusting. some people should be ashamed of themselves, but people just do not care, and the staff, who are amazing, are left to clear up your mess!! We didn't realise how little there was to do in the resort, so spent the majority of our time in Salou. If you go over the road to the travel shop, you can buy a card for 10E which gets you 10 journeys on the bus. The number 3,4,6 and 47 bus takes you into Salou. It's an excellent bus service, and very regular. If you do stay in the resort, there is an irish bar, and about 5 restaurants. We booked the catamaran trip with the Tui rep who is in the hotel nearly everyday, the Jet2 rep was no where to be seen. It was a bargain at 44E each, you are collected from your hotel, taken to the port, it's all inclusive food and drinks, then returned to your hotel. It was a fab trip and one I would recommend.

Rarely do you visit a hotel and the star rating be correct. We had a lovely weeks stay, our room was exactly what we needed and the balcony very large. (1 bedroom apartment). The cleaners were amazing! They do a fantastic job. Reception staff very friendly. Kids club was good but not very well controlled when children in there and no one on the team actually spoke to me as a parent. (Lots of colouring involved- my daughter loves colouring luckily). The life guards although very strict are amazing, best we've had on holiday. Worth noting, no balls and inflatables are allowed in the pool (armbands ect okay). The pool was very clean and well looked after the pool team do an amazing job. the splash park although the water was cold the kids loved it and lots of beds always free. We never ate at the hotel. The supermarket at the hotel next door has more selection then the one in the hotel and is cheaper. Route 66 and mex&co a short walk away do amazing food. Bus to salou is 2.15-3 each way and bus stop is right outside. Salou is about a 30min hilly walk away (we often walked home but not google maps route). We loved not having card keys and the bands being keys as well as being able to load money onto them. The hotel is cashless but you can pay cash onto your band at reception. Evening entertainment is very loud, we're in 1 of the furthest rooms and it's like we sitting in front of the stage. It would be better if it was turned down that little bit as the speakers do sound like they are struggling. 1545 every day the speakers go off with a dance along so if you have a sleeping little one make sure your not close. Saturday nights entertainment was brilliant. Would I come again yes, but would love to hire a car to venture out more as salou is a little over priced.

Overall, a very nice hotel. Helpful reception staff and an efficient team in the buffet area. The Beds in the twin room we were in seemed pretty much brand new, firm and comfortable. There were several different thickness pillows to choose from. There was a mini-fridge which was useful, but no kettle. Kettles do come in some of the bigger rooms I think, and you could always consider bringing your own. The food was reasonable for the price paid, some variation, and as usual some that was not so warm. Find the microwaves and you are good. A few of the food choices were excellent. The summer season begins on May 1st, so a few extras such as the on-site supermarket is not open until then, but there was still a reasonable entertainment programme.. I am not sure if this might have additional acts as the season progresses, but, there was at least one outside act each evening that seems to circulate around some of the other H10 hotels in the area. We liked the Queen act in particular. There was a nice friendly and relaxed atmosphere in general and we appreciated the stay. This hotel is in Cap-Salou, so a little outside the main Salou area. The bus service outside is excellent value if you buy the card from the travel shop outside the hotel. We walked one day which was really pleasant.. less than an hour, but it did generate a few blisters. We will shortly be returning to H10 Salauris Palace for a second visit, this is a very similar hotel in the centre of Salou.. I am torn though, as we did enjoy our stay here too.
