H10 Ocean Suites, Fuerteventura

It was our first stay in Corralejo and the H10 Suites looked ideal for our needs. We booked a suite with a pool view. It was a nice setting. The room was a decent size and there were coffee and tea facilities. The air-con worked perfectly, and the mini fridge kept drinks cold. Perfect. The shower was fine. The beds were very firm though so just be aware. I really struggled to get some sleep. You can get a mattress topper on request and it worked fine. Sleep at last. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all excellent with a huge choice in a perfect roomy setting. We had no complaints. It was great. Coffee was excellent too. The pool areas (are there are two main pools) were ideal. The pools are heated but the breeze may affect your judgement. The pool was cleaned every morning. The staff are brilliant. Well done to you all. The room safe was 2 a day. The entertainment was good. Pool towels are available via reception. The location was absolutely perfect. Sadly there are some negatives I need to discuss. Why were we forced to pay a 100 deposit on arrival when other families didn't? Bizarrely, that 100 was not deducted from our drinks bill/safe deposit bill on check out. We still had to pay our bill in full. Why? I went to the H10 Dreams and the H10 Ocean Dunas during my time in Corralejo. The rooms were way more modern. Both hotels are way nicer in communal areas. The reason why I am comparing H10 hotels in Corralejo is that the H10 Suites do need some modernising of some communal areas, rooms and the actual pool itself. There are some tired areas. Our flight arrived late, so when we arrived at 11pm, staff had left some sandwiches, water and two apples. Nice touch. We had paid for our room that night so in effect, we had paid for our room from the time of check in earlier in the day. When leaving, we had to check out at mid-day. Our flight was at 9.15pm with a transfer pick up at 5.45pm. We requested a late check out at 5pm. That can only be requested the last evening of your stay, and not before. This is my main gripe. The hotel charged us 10 an hour for the late check out, so 50. They didn't allow us lunch either which really was more than disappointing. We hadn't had a choice of the full buffet dinner due to our late arrival, but company policy means that when you leave late, you don't get a lunch. This policy needs to change please. It's just not fair, company policy or not. We enjoyed our stay until the last day fiasco, but would I return to the H10 Suites. That's a no, sadly.

A lobby bar serving coffee, soft drinks, and a variety of cocktails, with live music performances. Poolside bars offering snacks, drinks, and cocktails, with spacious terraces for sunbathing or relaxing in the shade. The hotel is ideally situated just a 510 minute walk from Corralejos town center, beaches, and a wide range of shops, restaurants, and attractions. Nearby is the Acua Water Park (approximately 750 meters away) and the Corralejo Dunes Natural Park (a short drive away). H10 Ocean Suites is also committed to responsible tourism through its Stay Green program. One great example is their sustainability-focused water refill system: at the bars and restaurants, guests can enjoy free still or sparkling water refills using a reusable metal bottle. Pool areas are very nice and well kept as are the gardens. The two story blocks look great and don't cast any shadow as the sun goes down. We requested a upper floor with a balcony which they agreed to. The lower ones have a larger Terrance but a public walkway passes in front of all of them. It's raised from the pooside area by a foot or so, so not directly leading onto the pool which is good. We stayed half board but they let you swap the evening meal for lunch if you want a change from the buffet service by going to local restaurants. The buffet is pretty good and we always found something we enjoyed. Staff in the restaurant are friendly and very efficient taking drink orders and removing finished plates etc. One night in 7, you can swap the buffet for their on-site Italian restaurant which is set up in their daytime snack bar. It's very nice, with a complimentary glass of fizz on arrival. We and others did find it a bit chilly in April with the wind, as it has open doorways. There were a couple of very good acts on in the hotel while we were there but they finish by 10pm, which is early when you eat late, as they serve food until 21:30. We therefore had drinks after 10 in the many bars 5 mins away or in the old town area 15 mins walk. Reception staff were always helpful with any maintenance requests and information about local buses etc. Lots of good shops and supermarkets on the main road 2 mins from the hotel. We've never stayed at a H10 hotel before and would certainly consider again in the future if they are like this one

Really lovely hotel, great positioning in town. Used the quiet pool area - no kids are allowed under 6. Plenty of sunbeds, food mostly ok- suggest you use the mama Mia snack bar at lunch. First holiday in a long time where the entertainment was good, in the upstairs bar area. Staff were so helpful- as I said, a pleasant surprise.
