Beautiful hotel, luxury feel but lacking quiet spaces for adults.
We stayed here for 14 nights in a side sea-view room on an all-inclusive basis, and at first glance, it absolutely lives up to the luxury billing. The hotel is beautifully designed, sympathetic to the landscape, everything is spotlessly clean, and the rooms are huge, we had plenty of space to spread out and properly unwind.
Check-in was smooth and, to the hotels credit, we were very impressed that our wristbands remained active even after check-out, allowing us to continue using the pools, bars, and a courtesy room to shower before leaving, just make sure you book this in advance. A really appreciated touch for those with later flights.
Unfortunately, after our first full week we were suddenly disturbed by noise, not from the hotel itself, but from the Hard Rock Hotel opposite, which was hosting a particularly loud live event. The bass came straight through our closed doors & windows and made it difficult to relax in the room. Usual Hard Rock activity noise level wasn't ideal, but we managed to live with it for the first week, but this event really pushed the volume. Thankfully, when we raised this with reception, Barbara couldnt have been more helpful, she arranged a room move for us to the opposite side of the hotel, which was much quieter. Not the hotels fault, but the solution was handled brilliantly.
Food and drink were a highlight:
We dined at all three la carte restaurants included in our stay.
Route 66 delivered hearty American-style comfort food great burgers and my husband was particularly pleased with the half chicken.
Sakura had fun teppanyaki-style cooking right in front of you a good show, though the food itself felt a little underwhelming, especially with the same menu both weeks.
Stromboli, the Italian, served exactly what youd hope good quality pizza and pasta.
As a gesture after the room move and for our 10th wedding anniversary, we were invited to The View restaurant one evening, and it was truly stunning. Food, service, atmosphere everything elevated. We were quietly relieved we werent Privilege guests for the whole two weeks or wed have left significantly heavier, as it would have been so tempting to go back nightly.
The buffet was easily the best weve experienced on holiday. Plenty of fresh options, a great salad bar, and dishes like poke bowls and tacos made freshly so you know the food hasnt been sat out for hours. Breakfasts were also consistently excellent.
Service across the hotel was generally great, with special thanks to Barbara at reception and Marco, one of the waiters, who was always cheerful, helpful and very patient with my wish to practive my Spanish - which they remembered for the duration of our stay.
There were a few areas that didnt quite live up to the hotels five-star feel:
No adult-only bar or pool area, there is a pool which is "recommended adults only", but the recommendation wasn't adhered to. And no adults-only bar spaces, which made finding a quiet drink in the evening tricky. The only main bar, Dome, hosted some lovely entertainment for adults but the atmosphere was regularly drowned out by very loud childrens shows coming from the theatre just downstairs.
Cocktails were a bit of a miss, overly sweet and syrupy, which was a shame in such a nice setting.
Toilet paper was surprisingly cheap-feeling for a hotel of this standard, we ended up purchasing our own toilet roll from a nearby supermarket, only to have this removed from our room, accidently we assume! A small but oddly jarring detail.
While sunbed reserving was happening (despite signs saying not to), we never struggled to find a lounger, so it didnt affect us. That said, on the day the hotel hosted a wedding, things did feel more cramped. The sunlounger area was noticeably reduced to make space for the event, and it seemed no additional staff were brought in to support, service that day was markedly slower and less attentive, as existing staff were clearly stretched covering both regular guests and wedding duties.
Despite a few of these drawbacks, the overall feel of the place is luxurious, modern, and welcoming. The rooms are spacious, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and its the kind of place where, if youre travelling as a family or dont mind a little bustle, you could very happily spend your entire holiday on site.
Would we return? Possibly, but next time wed be more likely to go as Privilege guests, or not during a neighbouring hotels music festival!
