H10 Cambrils Playa

We chose this hotel for the short trip from the airport and reviews on trip advisor. Check in was easy. We arrived in the morning and were aware our rooms would not be ready until 3pm (actually ready for 2pm) Our cases were locked in a luggage room which is overseen by a member of reception whilst storing cases. Room safe and excellent Wi-Fi is free. Also kettles and irons are provided free of charge upon request ( you can loan the iron for an hour). All rooms have hairdryers installed in the bathroom. Pool/beach towels can be loaned for a deposit of 10 euros which is refundable (a change of towel is available anytime in the pool area. We had requested a quiet room. We were allocated room 345 on the Mountain View side (some reviews state this is a poor view. In our opinion, it is quite pleasant with a view of the mountains in the distance and overlooking the tennis courts and lovely green park for children and yoga classes. There are fridges in the room but no ice compartment which wasnt a problem as ice is provided freely at the bar. There is also water dispenser at the poolside to top up your drink bottles any time Pool area is very pretty with some jasmine and sweet smelling plants all around and a good size pool with different depths. There is a separate childs paddling pool. Sun beds are plentiful. In our first week, it was quiet and not a lot of sun bed reserving went on. However, the second week (UK childrens school holidays), it was busy, noisy and every single sun bed was reserved with towels when we went for breakfast between 8 and 9am. We asked the staff why this wasnt monitored but they stated they were unable to enforce this. We found the pool area too noisy and packed with people in the second week after a lovely first week so chose to go to the beach. Again, this is personal choice and some will like the busy atmosphere. It may not be as hectic when the children are not on holiday A nice wide, clean beach is within 5 minutes walk. Beds are 5euros per day and sun shade is 10 euros per day. Its a frame with detractable shade at the top so plenty of space to move your beds around within the shade. Would easily fit four sun beds underneath. Location is quiet with a couple of bars and 2 supermarkets within 5 minutes and the plana bus ticket office. You can purchase a bus card for 10 euros 50 cents for 10 bus journeys on the line between Tarragona and Cambrils (so one euro per journey whatever the distance) Top ups after this are 6 euros for the same 10 journeys. Further afield within a 15 minute walk is the rugby bar and Molly Malones Irish bar. There is a pizza restaurant within a two minute walk which we did try. They were stone baked and very tasty. Beers are priced at 3.50 euros in the hotel. Gin and tonics 7.50. Cava is 3 euros for a small glass.They will provide ice for your room if asked and an ice bucket if you want to bring your own wine on an evening. Waiter service is provided in the bar and pool area or you can order at the bar. Staff are all polite and friendly and the entertainment team work very hard every day and evening. You can hire a cycle for 12euros per day. Also electric bikes and electric scooters. The area is ideal for cycling as it is so flat. There are varied opinions on the food which really is personal choice. On an evening, lots of freshly prepared and very varied seafood is on offer as well as lots of salad dishes. There is a grill station which has different things each day (steaks, fish and pork). Also, each evening at least two other meat dishes are provided and pasta. There is a good selection of desserts and ice cream. At breakfast, there is a hot buffet with all the usual bacon, sausage, scrambled egg etc and salad bar with cold meats and sweet pastries. My husband likes a hot breakfast but found this to be cool. There is a microwave and toaster. In the restaurant at night, waitresses bring your drinks to your table. Top tip - ask for a JUG of water rather than a bottle ( a small bottle is charged at 1 euro, large is 2 euros. A jug of water is free) If you are half board, you can change your evening meal for lunch.

Just returned, really nice hotel Good points Staff, friendly Food, good food, bit repetitive for breakfast, definitely should do fresh omelettes, a must for me, and just as easy as frying eggs in my opinion. Evening meal very nice, and the best ice cream ever. Rooms very clean, top tip, upgrade to a pool view, the other side of hotel the view is poor. Pool area is fantastic, clean, plenty of loungers ect, towels provided for a returnable deposit. Reception staff were faultless and efficient. Fantastic beach best I've seen is a four minute walk across the road, bit of advice, when you near the beach please take extra care to look out for the cyclists, there is plenty,, it's a massive cycle area. On the beach 2 loungers and a very good cover, better than brollies is 20 euro for the day, good value I thought. Top tip, little beach bars, a must to visit, tapas is fantastic, we went twice, nice staff and free public toilet facilities. I'm definitely returning, hotel is isolated, 20 mins walk to first pub. It's approximately 50 mins walk to cambrils and a good hours walk to salou. Buses run regularly, right outside hotel. The walks to both salou and cambrils are very flat, no hills at all, take ya time and enjoy the views.

Lovely hotel , very pleasant and helpful staff Food was good . I'd like to give special thanks to Oscar who took the fitness and dance classes , really enjoyed those and to Nodo the barman and Robert the waiter , all very efficient and friendly . Cambrils was a bus ride away or a 30 minute walk . Would have liked a kettle in the room but apart from that everything was very good

Lets start with the good bits clean, nice big pool. Room done every day. Food not to bad managed to find things I liked. Most of the reception staff were lovely apart from one who was so rude to me and my daughter we were in total shock. Negatives no ball games, rubber rings, etc allowed at all in the pool. Saw a few kids crying because of this including my grand children. It took two hours on the easy jet transfer to get to the hotel so be prepared for a long journey. Not much to do for kids half hour entertainment so late 9 oclock evening. If you want a nice quiet holiday near the beach perfect. Not really for kids.
