In keeping with its strong commitment to a more responsible and environmentally conscious model of tourism, H10 Hotels has launched an ambitious project to install photovoltaic panels at its two resorts in the Dominican Republic and at 11 of its hotels in the Canary Islands, reinforcing its strategy to reduce carbon emissions.
This major investment in renewable energy involves the installation of 9,500 solar panels across both destinations, with a total capacity of 5,650 kWp—equivalent to the area of nine football pitches. These panels will generate clean energy equal to the annual consumption of nearly 3,000 households. The installations will supply 15% of the electricity used by the 13 properties, with some hotels expected to exceed 30%. All the systems are scheduled to be connected before the end of the year.
Specifically, in the Dominican Republic, a total of 5,000 solar panels with a capacity of 2,950 kWp are set to be installed at the two hotels located in Punta Cana: Ocean Blue & Sand and Ocean El Faro. This initiative, carried out in strategic partnership with the Punta Cana – Macao Energy Consortium (CEPM), will generate clean energy equivalent to the annual consumption of 1,600 households.

In the Canary Islands, the project includes the installation of 4,500 solar panels with a total capacity of 2,700 kWp across 11 hotels, generating clean energy equivalent to the annual consumption of 1,400 households. This initiative has been co-financed with European Next Generation funds, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The panels in the Canary Islands are being installed at the following hotels: H10 Rubicón Horizons Collection, H10 Timanfaya Palace, H10 Lanzarote Princess, and H10 White Suites in Lanzarote; H10 Gran Tenerife, H10 Conquistador, and H10 Las Palmeras in Tenerife; and H10 Playa Esmeralda, H10 Tindaya, H10 Ocean Suites, and H10 Ocean Dunas in Fuerteventura.

This initiative forms part of the Stay Green Sustainability Plan, which reflects the company’s commitment to society and the environment and aims to promote a responsible tourism model in all the destinations where it operates.
This commitment to renewable energy builds on the company’s purchase—since 2016—of 100% renewable electricity for 90% of all its properties and for all its hotels in Spain. With this initiative, the company continues to implement measures to reduce its environmental impact and contribute positively to the communities in which it operates.

In addition to the hotels mentioned, the company already had solar panels installed at seven hotels in Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Malaga, Benidorm, Barcelona, and at its two resorts in Jamaica.
