H10 Costa Mogán, Gran Canaria

Our first time booking a Jet2 all-inclusive holiday, going to Gran Canaria and staying at H10 hotel. We had a brilliant time, the food was excellent providing so many different choices and combinations to suit our needs. Our room was ideal, providing great views and was cleaned to a high standard daily. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the rooftop bar.

We went for a junior suite and it was lovely to look out over the front of the hotel and towards the mountainside from our room (3041). The room was very large with a big bed, coffee machine (although you do have to purchase coffee pods after the first day), tv, walk in closet, and seating area on the balcony. There are plenty of beds around the pool, free towels, beach views and you are able to serve yourself drinks by the pool (if on all inclusive) as well as there being a pool bar which serves delicious ice coffee's, cocktails and hot snacks. If you prefer to sit away from a pool, there is also a rooftop area with a bar and sun loungers. Really enjoyed the hotel entertainment in the day, ran by the animation team - special shoutout to Christian who really brings the party to the daily aqua gym classes. We also took part in the SUP yoga ran by Gabriel which was incredibly enjoyable, super relaxing and a completely new experience for us. In the evening there was a variety of performances from acrobatics, dancers to singers - our only comments would be for the hotel to maybe contact the acts to let them know that a lot of the setlist songs are being repeated almost daily and although we love those songs, it would be nice to have a change (Abba, Celine Dion, Tina Turner songs). Be aware that there is no where to walk here and you are completely surrounded by cliffs (its not recommended to walk along the road or scramble on the rocks) but there is a lovely boardwalk from Amadores along to Puerto Rico. The local buses are amazing - cheap, clean, always on time and there are display boards at the bus stop displaying the waiting time. We got the bus from Playa Del Cura to Puerto Mogan to have a look around the town. 'Little Venice' is a very pretty area to walk around, lots of little cafe's/restaurants for food, nice beach and shops. We then got the catamaran to the other ports along the coast. Anfi is beautiful and there is a nice beach club on the front with views of the port/beach. We also got a bus to Meloneras and walked to the nature reserve and across the sand dunes to Maspalomas (highly recommend doing this!). We stayed for sunset which was around 9pm so we had to get a taxi back to the hotel (cost 30 euros) as the next bus wasn't for 45 minutes. When we got back to the hotel, we had unfortunately missed the buffet closing by 8 minutes and weren't able to get any food so we went to Restaurant Ole located near the SPAR. The meals were very big and the staff are lovely. Enjoyed the food at the buffet, especially the dessert's which are very delicious. The song playlist repeating every morning at breakfast got a bit monotonous though. We especially enjoyed all the celebrations on Canary Day - Christian and Gabriel manned a table by the pool which had lots of local Gran Canaria delicacies, banana shots, desserts etc and there was a live band playing local music for us. When it comes to the Fusion restaurant we weren't sure what to expect as the menu outside didn't really sell it to us, but we tried it anyway and were blown away by the many courses of delicious food that you get! We have been to many H10 hotels and equally enjoyed this H10 experience so thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Having never been to Gran Canaria we were unsure what to expect staying in a location away from the main areas. However we most definitely made the right choice! The hotel was spotless and the food choice was excellent! All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful, however special shout out has to go to Gabriel and Christian! They made our holiday even more enjoyable, encouraging us to join the activities. Without them we wouldn't have laughed as much and we would have missed out on meeting some lovely people!! Check-In - Was a great experience... friendly, informative, stress-free & quick. Special shout out to Ina who was very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. Food & Restaurants - The buffet restaurant was well-stocked, with plenty of choice. TBH I've stayed at places with more choice but the choices here were certainly sufficient and the food was always fresh and well-cooked. Similarly the pool bar also offered a choice of snacks if you didn't want to eat indoors during the day. The Fusion (Tapas) Restaurant was really nice - The food was very well cooked and the service was excellent (another shout out to the lady who served us - I didn't get her name unfortunately but she was very attentive and friendly). The Roof Top Bar was superb - relaxed, great views and a lovely place to have a few sundowners in the late afternoon. There were also sunbeds in this bar so you could also pick up a tan whilst enjoying a cocktail. Rooms - We had a ground floor Junior Suite with Sea View - it was pool side so was very convenient during the day. The room was comfortable, clean and well-appointed (a bit weird having a glass-walled bathroom but the glass is frosted so modesty can be maintained if required). The bed was very comfortable and I slept well, even though I suffer with lower back pain. Finally, the room was cleaned every day, always to a good standard. Entertainment - This was a bit mixed. Four of our seven nights were excellent, one was ok and the other two just weren't our cup of tea. Service - I really couldn't fault it. Everyone was really friendly and helpful - no exceptions. But.... especially good were Marta and Zelena who went the extra mile to make our stay special. Location - Costa Mogan is quite small and there aren't many places outside the hotel. That said, just up the road there are a few bars and restaurants including an Irish Bar which offers good value and friendly service. It's worth noting that this hotel is in Costa Mogan and not Puerto de Mogan, which is a bus ride away, further down the coast. Worth a visit though. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at H10 Costa Mogan and my wife and I will almost certainly return. Being Adults Only is a definite plus point but there is a separate apartment block attached to the hotel which is NOT Adults Only and is well-used by families especially at the weekends. I have to say, I'm looking forward to going back soon.
