We just returned from a stay at this resort and overall had a really good experience. The customer service stood out right from the start. We had an issue with our room on the first night, and the staff handled it quickly and professionally. Everyone we dealt with was kind and helpful, which really made a difference. The pool area is beautiful and well maintained, and we enjoyed the entertainment throughout the day and evening. It was always fun. The restaurants were decent, and what really impressed my husband, who is a former executive chef, was seeing the buffet chef regularly checking food temperatures. That kind of attention to food safety is rare and definitely appreciated. As for the areas where the resort could improve, vegan dining options were very limited. Despite my best efforts to explain what I could and couldnt eat, many staff members didnt seem familiar with the concept of veganism. This made meals a bit of a challenge for me. Its listed as a five star resort, but I would personally rate it more as a four star. That said, for the price, it still offers great value. Getting into Playa del Carmen is expensive by taxi, so bring plenty of cash if you plan to explore off-resort. There is an ATM on site, but it comes with high fees and a steep exchange rate, so Id recommend preparing in advance. A tip for future travelers: book the Privilege room if its in your budget. The honeymoon suite was especially nice. It comes with added comforts and perks that really elevated the experience.

SOLO FEMALE TRAVELER REVIEW The energy of this resort works well for solo travelers (more than most I've been) - still not great, but better than other resorts I've gone to in Mexico. This is because they have an entire staff focused on engaging activities with the guests all day. From fun water aerobics classes to silly pool games. Plus, there is a very clear "party" pool that is quite social b/c of the swim up bar vs chill/don't talk to me pool. I felt couples were engaging with everyone vs being off on their own - if they were in the party pool area. Plus, there were more groups of women and other solo travelers than I see at most resorts. The activities staff is a hoot - they have great, fun energy that lightens the vibe for the entire party pool area. However, I did not feel very welcome as a single woman from many of the older wait staff. In fact, I really felt like I was a burden and annoying them to have the audacity to take a table just for 1. I even had to tell a waiter at one point "you are making me very uncomfortable" and it ruined my night to have to do so. He apologized, but I didn't see him treating any of the couples tables the way I was being treated and talked to. There was just a general lack of customer service at this resort though overall - like there was no management around - it didn't seem to be a priority. Just sort of lackadaisical staff overall. Most were nice (bartenders especially) but the restaurant staff always made me feel a bit uncomfortable and there definitely wasn't much concern for impressing the guests in any way - just status quo. My room was very hit or miss if I got water or beer replenishment in my refrigerator - again just lackadaisical. I only saw a waiter once come out to take drink orders at the beach - and maybe they just don't do that there - but I saw it once! That all said, it's got decent food options, good beach options, chill vs party options and great effort around entertainment - which was ideal for a solo gal to enjoy. For the price, this is a great option for a solo traveler and in general if you are a couple who likes to have a little action and not just romantic alone time. I was pleased overall even if everything wasn't like up to super high standards, it worked out and I had a very nice stay.

Own is the most fun! Please do pool aerobics! We had the best sisters trip with this group! Oswyn is the coolest! The water is gorgeous, the weather fantastic, the food is to die for, but stay for the staff bf they are the most fun, especially Oswyn!!

Just got back from 10 days in OMR, it was our first time in Mexico and thanks to the resort and the staff it wont be our last. Nothing is ever too much, always there to help. The resort itself is beautiful and authentic, not overly flashy and modern like some which makes it even more special. Everywhere from the public areas, rooms, lobby, gym etc were immaculate the whole time and I noticed they have teams working round the pool and throughout the site 24/7 to keep it in the best shape. The gym was the most equipped Ive seen in a hotel, small but has everything you would need. Shoutouts to the experience team, we done a few things during the day such as games at the party pool with Alejandro and team, wine tasting with two young ladies I cant remember their names and the guy running it - it was great! Also Spanish lessons with the lovely Viri who always had a smile on her face and stopped for a chat! Kendal of course making everyone smile everyday, even just over hearing his conversations made me laugh hes fantastic! The bar team were fantastic and always fun to chat with, I only remember Jony by name but they were all great. The coffee shop is a perfect addition, went every morning before breakfast and the lady Zury doesnt seem to stop she deserves all the recognition, always had a smile on her face! Margarita is the one for your excursions, always smiling joking and laughing she is great! Lovely woman. If you want to chill out and not do anything theres the beach or the quiet pool, if you want to get a bit tipsy and have a good time the party pooo goes all day. Overall a brilliant resort and would highly highly recommend. Thanks so much for the best holiday!
