H10 Timanfaya Palace, Lanzarote

Another relaxing stay at the Timanfaya Palace (our 5th time). It all depends on what you want from your holiday, for us this has everything we want. Great location. Straight out the back gate onto the 9km promenade with a two minute walk to Flamingo beach. Clean. The hotel is kept spotless by the diligent cleaning staff. Food and drink. Plenty of choices and premium brand drinks on all inclusive. Room. We have not had one of the refurbished rooms yet but the rooms we have had have always been perfectly adequate ( we dont spend a great deal of time in the room other than to shower and sleep). Staff. Now this is where the hotel really shines from Jose as General Manager right the way through to bar staff, cleaners, waiters, Animation and maintenance teams, they all seem happy to make your holiday the best it can be. Special mention must go to Ahmed in the restaurant who once again looked after us impeccably. Chris and Angel in the pool bar. Hector on reception now having moved from the Animation team and of course Elisa, Jean Carlos and a special mention to Imara who when a guest became ill went above a beyond to look after her and her husband until the ambulance arrived. We have stayed here regularly since 2014, and there are are many reasons that we return. The spotlessly clean rooms, the great food and entertainment and the ample availability of sunbeds etc are a few of them. What continues to stand out though is the staff. They don't just work at the hotel, they are clearly proud of the place and passionate in what they do. Brilliant teamwork. We get treated like old friends, and nothing is too much trouble. Special thanks must go to the room maids (room 530) who did a fantastic job, and also to Pepe and Ahmed in the restaurant, who always looked after us well. I could go on and on but the same thanks go to Angel and all of the waiters in the pool and piano bars and also the theatre, we never had to wait to be served. Finally thanks to the manager himself, Jose, who stopped by for a chat when we were sat in reception waiting for our taxi. It will come as no surprise that we are back for two weeks in September.

Just returned from our fourth visit, first time privilege and booking direct with the hotel. Couldnt fault the hotel. Easy to book online, prompt response when emailing before arrival with room request. On arrival met with wonderful reception staff. Lucky to be allocated one of the newly refurbished rooms. Very impressed with this, so light and like the new fridge /coffee area. The hotel has brilliant staff, Daniel and the excellent Kasbah staff , Angel, Jose and the other La Geria staff and Paola in the clubhouse Its so good to be recognised from previous visits and to see the same staff. My husband made use of the gym and thank you Jose for having the time to chat to him. Look forward to returning next April if not before if we can fit a break in.

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from a weeks trip and found it very relaxing and mostly enjoyable with just a few improvements I could suggest. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and has everything you could need. The pools are lovely and the grounds are huge with lots of space to relax. Most of the guests are older (60+) which didn’t matter to us but may be considered if younger guests are wanting somewhere a little livelier. We had a ground floor room which was so lovely and a great location. The room itself was perfect and super quiet at night. The food we found not to be amazing. It’s hard for the same chef to pull off different cuisines every night perfectly so we found most nights the food was underwhelming. We did also notice that usually the leftovers from the night before were used in a lot of the dishes the next day. Breakfast was good and the female chef who cooked the pancakes every morning was so lovely. It would be great if a vegetarian meat option would be available at breakfast as a non pork eater myself, I did struggle in that department. However there are many restaurants in playa Blanca that are much better than the evening buffet if you fancy a trip out. We loved the activities during the day however for a younger audience, the evening entertainment was more focused for older adults and we found it quite hit or miss. Most of the staff were absolutely lovely and more than happy to help however on two occasions we found some staff members to be less accommodating. On one of the days we were there I had an injury that I thought the hotel first aid could have a look at. It was just a bad graze, I did not need to go to hospital but it definitely needed cleaning up and dressing as there was a lot of blood and me and my boyfriend are not medically trained. I told the front desk and the man on reception came over with two tiny plasters and a used bottle of sterile water. He then told my boyfriend he had to deal alone with it as the man on reception couldn’t (not sure why). This was the only help we received which was worrying as I assumed they would have some staff who were first aiders. Also with the older clientele, I would hate for someone elderly to have an injury like mine and be left with almost no help like we were. Thankfully we went to a pharmacy which were much more helpful but we did end up spending €30+ euros on supplies to clean up my wound. On another occasion I went to the pool bar to ask for a mock tail. I asked a young girl behind the bar for it and she laughed in my face and sighed as if it was too much of an order for her to make me and then started laughing about it to the other workers behind the bar. It did make me feel quite uncomfortable and like I’d done something wrong by asking for the drink. I would hope other people would get better customer service than this. They are my only negative points and for a weeks stay they didn’t put a damper on the fab time we had in lanzarote. I’m not sure we would return but purely due to the fact we like to travel around.
