Ocean Blue & Sand, Punta Cana

I stayed 14 days at Ocean Blue & Sand and my overall experience was good. There are so many positive aspects: beautiful landscaped grounds and easy walking the property to the beach, the swimming pools, restaurant's and lobby. Some people took the trolley/train but it is unnecessary unless mobility issues. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Yes there are some that speak mainly Spanish but you chose a Spanish speaking country to vacation, so make an effort and learn a few necessary words (afterall most vacationers have an iphone to scroll). When I arrived at 8:00pm I was given a nice welcome drink, a quick check-in and brought to my room efficiently. My room was large, clean, smelled fresh, had excellent air conditioning, a working room safe for 14 days. The bed and pillows were so comfy! So quiet for sleep/upper floor. The best part was my covered balcony... private with lush green views.....and a welcome retreat from the sunny afternoons. The food was absolutely excellent....I especially enjoyed the Buffet restaurant......spoiled for choice...fresh and delicious each day. I have stayed at other all-inclusives and this was the best!! At lunch I loved going down to the beach and eating at the Villa Marina restaurant. I enjoyed walking for miles and miles on the beach. I had a fabulous back massage by Irdilana in the Resort Spa.....highly recommend! Nightly entertainment was fun with great variety each night. The Animation teams (Pokemon and All) are enthusiastic with high energy (though they need to be more mindful that some of their behaviour/acts are not for people under 18 years of age). The microphones for the daytime shows can be loud, so quieter buildings 3 and 7 are great for some quiet respite on the balconies to read and relax. The resort has a charming village atmosphere with Mikes Coffee Shop which has great drinks and a/c, a wonderful ice cream "parlour" kiosk, two small shops with candies and souvenirs and some pharmacy items you might need, also a Casino, night club, Bowling Alley and so many wonderful restaurant's set up like a little village....with a bridge over the water near Lobby. Very sweet. The breezy lobby is also great for cool daytime respites, a quiet retreat to read and relax, a good place to order a drink, and a nightly piano bar that is easy to miss but well worth visiting each night through glass lobby doors. The Lobby check -in area also offers two desk computers for guests. Just two things Ocean Blue to improve upon: There aren't enough sun umbrella's and this resort has a problem with some guests being selfish and putting towels out on the sun loungers at 5:00am and 6:00am to "claim" them. Please end this ridiculous routine by choosing two staff to monitor the pool and beach area's between 8pm and 8:00am AND put a sign at each stating "towels will be removed 8:00pm to 8:00am". Please enforce this so everyone has a fair chance at shade. I stayed 14 days and NEVER got a sun lounger with an umbrella. I have never experienced this at any other all-inclusive. The second issue is the pink flamingo.....lovely to look at (I was in building 3....so the flamingo was immediately opposite my upper balcony)....I watched for 14 days how this poor flamingo was pestered and persecuted by guests for a "photo opportunity".....people getting up into it's face!! People trying to feed it human food!! Treating it like their own personal toy for amusement. I watched as it become distraught.....became loud, became aggressive, walking in circles off the path, increased anxiety and upset stomach! Just terrible. Some drunk guests at dusk/night badgering it!! Ocean Blue please put up a sign there to advise guests to use their zoom lens for photo's....and build a barrier/fence between the people and this vulnerable flamingo....that way people could still see it from a respectful distance. It deserves a better existence than this.

BLUE TEAM IS THE BEST YOULL EVER GET. These folks commit themselves to making sure you have a good time. Resort was beautiful and the perfect destination. Will be referring this place to everyone else. Ranger (will smith) is everything. I WILL BE COMING BACK!! Love this place

This hotel is what you expect of an all I cousine but the Blue Team is what makes it the best. The drinks are good, the food is fine, the beach is great, but the entertainment team (especially Ranger (Will Smith)) make it so fun with activités, dancing, and so much more! Would definitely recommend - came with a group of 12 and it was pretty easy but very fun!

Beautiful resort, excellent buffet options and wonderful helpful staff. The room and bathroom were a bit worn- but the air con worked :):) It was a comfortable stay- the room was cleaned daily and the towels were always changed. The fridge was always stocked. There was always space by the pool, the bar staff at the pool were beyond excellent and we always got reservations at the other restaurants. The buffet was amazing- so many options and everything tasted delicious!!! The waiting staff were attentive - esp Jose :) The drinks were always generous. We weren’t hassled for tips or time shares- everyone was polite and when our key card didn’t work- someone always came out promptly to help us. We had the best time and would recommend others to visit. Only cons were- We didn’t use the jacuzzi as the tub wasn’t very clean. The shower can do with a little more power and the bathroom can do with a refurb. When we went for the boat tour, we had to take our shoes off for the speed boat - the floor was dirty with hairs and it was very icky. But the tour guides and the experiences we had on the tours were great and we enjoyed ourselves- the pirate ship and snorkelling was one of the greatest experiences myself and the kids have had and would do it again. thanks for a wonderful experience and for all the hospitality and welcome.

A very fun and familiar place. The room was confi and elegant. The entertainment was great; they made us laugh and made sure we had a great experience. Thanks to Bombón, Manta, Chulo, Chipijamer, Mini Cooper, Black Diamond, Morocha, Chocolate and all the staff made this one of the best vacations ever.
