What a lovely hotel.
When you arrive the reception staff are friendly and polite. However they could have explained more about the facilities such as where the main restaurant is, if you can still get any food etc. How to log onto the wifi, which took us ages to do, as we were given the incorrect log in details.
We did have to wait awhile for our luggage to be taken to our rooms as the hotel is so big. So the luggage carriers were pretty busy. But when they did come they carried our luggage to the rooms without any hesitation.
The decor in the main hotel is outstanding, however our room was abit tired. It could have done with abit of painting considering its a 5 star hotel. Our curtains weren't hanging properly, some had come away from the pole. The shower was difficult to operate. We couldn't work out which way to turn the tap for the small shower head or the big shower head, but apart from that the room is so spacious and plenty of storage for your clothes. It was really clean.
The food is exceptional in the main restaurant. They had other restaurants that you can book, but we were happy with the variety from the main restaurant. They don't have enough staff though to take your orders for drinks. You do have to catch someone or go and find a waiter. One of the managers snapped at me because i asked if one of the waitresses could take my order. I was sat outside and he said no there should be a waiter outside to take your order but at that time there wasn't, because he was running around like a headless chicken.
Wasn't impressed by his attitude.
There are enough sun loungers for everyone, which is good. There is a small hut where you can get snacks from. The only thing is the fries are abit dry as they have been out for so long. Getting the towels for your lounger the staff that was meant to be in the hut wasn't there at all times. So it was a case of waiting around or going back.
Apart from those small things. Highly recommend this hotel.
We will definitely be going back again. I would have given it 5 stars but because of those few issues. Ive got to take a star off. After all it's supposed to be a 5 star hotel.

Beautiful hotel, impressive entrance hall, lookout for the train and the dolphins.
Very large grounds. Loads of sunbeds, no need to worry about getting one. Hotel app works well. Make sure you book speciality restaurants in advance.

Worth a visit if staying in Playa Blanca

Fantastic stay overall. The hotel was exceptionally clean, well-equipped, and in a really convenient location. Our room was spacious with two double beds and lovely and quietideal for a good nights sleep.
Food was decent, though the selection was a little limited and quite repetitive, and the flavours didnt always stand out. However, the chocolate cake on Wednesday night was absolutely . Definitely need to invest in proper steak knives!! The Thai restaurant was delicious. Best out of the three al a carte choices.
Staff were all very courteous and helpful.

Just got back from 11 nights at the Rubicon horizons hotel
Positives are the hotel is clean & room was spacious with a good shower
Pool areas are lovely with plenty of sunbeds, grounds are well kept
Bar areas & coffee shop are good offering a good range of drinks
We found the staff very friendly unlike previous reviews
Negatives are the food (sorry) 3 star at best,repetitive & Luke warm we ate out a lot despite being all inclusive such a shame as everything else was so lovely
