The company suggests five of its spectacular terraces that are open to the public and ideal for enjoying summer in the city. Summer is here and with it comes the perfect opportunity to enjoy being outdoors. H10 Hotels has drawn up a ranking of the best terraces its hotels have to offer in Europe’s main cities, all in excellent locations. Most of these terraces afford fantastic views of the city. During the day, they are an ideal spot for having a bite to eat or a soft drink, while in the evening they offer live music and other entertainment to accompany a light dinner or a drink al fresco. H10 Duque de Loulé****S (Lisbon), caipirinhas and fado in the Portuguese capital. Opened in 2015, this boutique hotel is located in a historic building in the city centre. It is a charming hotel that combines traditional Portuguese decor with elegant modern touches. The tenth floor has the Limão Chill-Out terrace from where you can admire the impressive views of Lisbon and the Tagus estuary. It has two separate areas, one covered and the other open-air, where special entertainment is put on several nights a week. On Thursdays you can enjoy great after-work drinks with Chill-Out sessions complete with a DJ and gin and tonics. Fridays are Fado nights, when live music lets you experience the very essence of Lisbon and share in its traditions. And on Saturdays, the terrace has live acoustic music, taking you on a journey of Latin American influences with Jazz, Bossa Nova and Pop.
These sessions are even more delicious with the caipirinhas. H10 Cubik****S (Barcelona), the best mix of views and tapas. The new H10 Cubik, in the old city centre, is an exclusive hotel with an interior design that brings together geometric shapes and bright colours. It offers the wonderful 8th-floor Atik terrace with its plunge pool, where you can gaze out over a stunning panoramic view of the city, with the cathedral spire rising above the Gothic Quarter. During the day, light dishes and cocktails are served in the bar area and when evening falls, the restaurant opens with a menu of high quality traditional tapas with very modern presentation. This luxury setting, with its plunge pool and sunlounger area, is a perfect place for an early evening get-together, often accompanied by live music. H10 London Waterloo**** (London), the best skyline views. Located on the famous Waterloo Road, close to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, the H10 London Waterloo has the exclusive Waterloo Sky Bar terrace on the eighth floor. From there you can admire magnificent panoramic views of the city, with the London Eye as the clearest landmark. The Waterloo Sky Bar is also the perfect setting for taking part in the gin master classes organised by the hotel. In addition, the hotel offers fantastic signature cuisine that can also be enjoyed on the terrace with its tapas menu. H10 Roma Città**** (Rome), cocktails on high. Situated in Marconi, a commercial area near the Trastevere, the nerve centre of Rome’s social and cultural life, the hotel offers signature cuisine specialising in Italian and international dishes.
The top floor terrace, with its swimming pool, is a wonderful place to enjoy a cocktail such as the Absolut Raspberry Reflection, a refreshing vodka and tonic of the very highest quality to cool down on a balmy Roman night. The Lobby Bar on the first floor also has access to a second terrace, the peaceful La Piazzeta, perfect for a snack or a light meal. The H10 Roma Città is also a prestigious venue for conferences and events, with facilities that adapt to meet clients’ needs and an exceptional standard of service. H10 Berlin Ku’damm**** (Berlin), tranquillity in the shopping district. With its great location, the H10 Berlin Ku’damm was created by restoring a historic building that stands just a few feet away from the Kurfürstendamm, the main shopping street in West Berlin, and very close to the Kaiser Wilhelm memorial church and the Zoo. This hotel won the HolidayCheck Award for the best hotel in Germany in 2013, and it has a terrace situated in a lovely interior courtyard so typical of Berlin. In summer it’s the perfect place to enjoy an à la carte continental breakfast, while at night the Salt & Pepper restaurant also serves its specialities on the terrace. Some days, you can also have a delicious meal cooked up on the barbecue on the terrace.
