H10 Hotels has just opened its first hotel in the Portuguese capital, the H10 Duque de Loulé, a 4-star superior hotel with 89 rooms a few yards from Praça do Marquês de Pombal in the city centre.   The H10 Duque de Loulé is located in a historical building in the city dating from the 18th century which housed a convent until 1890. Its façade has been preserved and has all the beauty of the typical architecture of the period.The hotel is located on Avenida Duque de Loulé next to Praça do Marquês de Pombal, the starting point of Avenida da Liberdade which is one of central Lisbon’s main thoroughfares. In addition, it is in the Portuguese capital’s most thriving shopping district which features clothes shops, summer terraces and live music at night.The H10 Duque de Loulé is an exclusive and charming Boutique Hotel whose rooms are flooded with Lisbon’s light. The hotel also pays tribute to Portuguese ceramic craftsmanship by featuring numerous stunning period portraits made up of traditional hand-painted blue and white tiles. These depictions stand in contrast to the rest of the furniture, which adds warmth and a contemporary feel to the different spaces.

The hotel’s décor was designed by Lázaro Rosa-Violán from the celebrated Contemporain studio.The H10 Duque de Loulé offers Double, Superior Double and Deluxe Rooms and Suites. They all feature outstanding décor and large picture windows that let in lots of light. There are also stunning views of the Bairro Alto neighbourhood and the Tagus river from the Double rooms with Lisbon View. As it is a Boutique Hotel, all the rooms are equipped with premium quality facilities such as a 40’’ LED TV, minibar, digital safe box and Textures Collection amenities. In addition, the Superior and Deluxe rooms and the Suites come with a Nespresso coffee machine, bathrobe and slippers. The hotel has the Azul e Branco Restaurant which is open for breakfast and evening meals and serves an exquisite range of Mediterranean cuisine. The breakfast buffet offers a variety of premium quality hot and cold options. The Restaurant’s menu also features dishes that blend the best in Portuguese and Spanish cuisine. Diners can enjoy their food in a room dominated by a large fireplace and large picture windows that create a very special atmosphere.

It also features numerous decorative ceramics such as Portuguese plates and tiles, which are combined with very contemporary touches. The hotel’s Limão Chill-Out Terrace is undoubtedly a great attraction for its guests. Located on the tenth floor and divided into a covered area and an open-air area, it offers fantastic views across Lisbon and the Tagus estuary and is the ideal place to wind up the day with a cocktail or snack as you watch night fall over the city.    The hotel also has a small fitness centre, free Wi-Fi throughout the premises, a Business Corner with a pleasant fireplace, a car park and a meeting room for up to 80 people. This is the fourth opening in Europe outside of Spain after the hotels in Rome, London and Berlin. H10 Hotels is thus continuing with its growth plans in European capitals and is currently working on the upcoming opening of the H10 Cubik, its twelfth hotel in Barcelona.
