Josep Espelt, President of H10 Hotels, receives the Costa Daurada Award from the Tourist Board of Tarragona
Espelt received the award from the Tourist Board of the County Council of Tarragona in recognition for his professional career and his support in the promotion of the Costa Daurada.
Barcelona, November 23, 2009. Last November 19, the Tourist Board of the County Council of Tarragona delivered the Costa Daurada Award to Josep Espelt, President of H10 Hotels. This prestigious award in the world of tourism, which was set up in 1990, affords recognition to the institutions and people that have collaborated in the promotion of the Costa Daurada as a tourist destination.
Mr. Espelt picked up the award during the gala dinner offered by the County Council of Tarragona in the new Convention Centre of PortAventura, which was attended by 600 people from the tourist trade. The Board of Tourism thus acknowledges Josep Espelt’s work throughout his professional career and his unswerving commitment to hotel promotion and investment on the Costa Daurada for 40 years.
Espelt, who hails from the Conca de Barberà, embarked upon his professional career on the Costa Daurada in 1969 with the opening of the Dolphin Park hotel in Salou. In this establishment, Espelt was a building technician and minority shareholder, as he also was in the seventies in other establishments in the area.
H10 Hotels is now also present in the Canary Islands, Costa del Sol, Majorca, Barcelona, Madrid, the Riviera Maya and Punta Cana. The company's international expansion process continues in the capitals of Europe, with openings scheduled next year in London and Berlin, as well as the Caribbean.
After a long career in the area, H10 Hotels continues to invest in the Costa Daurada. This same year, the Government of Catalonia awarded the fourth star to three of its establishments thanks to the ostensible improvements made to its facilities and for its commitment to quality service. All the chain's establishments on the Costa Daurada now boast four stars. Moreover, in the last few months, the H10 Salauris Palace and the H10 Mediterranean Village received the «Marque of Excellence Award» by Thomas Cook for customer satisfaction.
