H10 Hotels to operate two establishments in Cuba

The Turismo Gaviota Group awarded the contract for the management of both hotels

The Turismo Gaviota Group has awarded H10 Hotels the management and marketing contract for two exclusive establishments in Cuba: a resort currently under construction in the Varadero region and a hotel in Havana’s Miramar district.

H10 Hotels will take over the management of the H10 Habana Panorama hotel in Havana’s Miramar district on 1 October. In the coming months, it will make improvements to the establishment to ensure that it meets the chain’s strict quality standards.

The H10 Habana Panorama hotel is a veritable landmark in the Cuban capital due to its arresting architectural design and outstanding location overlooking the sea in the residential Miramar district, which is also home to most of the city’s embassies, firms and business centres.

The new urban hotel will offer a total of 317 rooms, including Deluxe Rooms, Privilege Rooms and 12 Suites, appointed with all the modern conveniences of a four-star establishment. Attention should likewise be called the comprehensive dining offer, consisting of 3 restaurants and 4 bars. The hotel’s facilities are rounded out by outdoor pools for adults and kids, 3 function rooms able to accommodate up to 150 people, the Privilege, exclusive rooms and services service, including a Privilege Lounge with spectacular views of the sea, a gym, a sauna, a treatment room, a squash court, a beauty salon, an entertainment programme and a variety of boutiques.

With this new addition in Havana, H10 Hotels continues to make great strides on its plan for international expansion in the Caribbean and Europe. This is the company’s seventh international opening, and it now operates establishments in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany and Cuba, as well as Spain.

The future establishment in Varadero, which will be marketed under the name Ocean Varadero Aqua, will be fully operational in October 2012.

Located seaside on the Varadero Peninsula and boasting a beachfront spanning some 200 metres, the Ocean Varadero Aqua will belong to the chain’s five-star ‘All Included’ category and will have 421 Deluxe Rooms, consisting of Junior Suites, Suites and Privilege Rooms, as well as an extensive range of services, including themed restaurants, leisure areas, a Despacio Spa Centre, the Privilege, exclusive rooms and services service and a beach club.

The new resort, which will meet the Ocean By H10 Hotels stringent quality and design standards, is being built on a 17-hectare plot known as ‘El Patriarca’ in reference to a locally famous giant centenary cactus of the same name that overlooks the estate. In keeping with the chain’s policy of cultural and environmental awareness, the ‘El Patriarca’ cactus will be integrated into the building plans for the future resort, which respect all local plant life.

With this addition, Ocean By H10 Hotels will have four establishments in the main destinations in the Caribbean, where it currently has 1600 rooms distributed among one five-star establishment in Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) and two resorts of the same standing on the Mayan Riviera (Mexico). The Ocean By H10 Hotels brand, which was launched in 2007 as a joint venture with Vacances Air Transat, the leading tour operator in Canada, and under which the Caribbean resorts are operated and marketed, aims to continue to add new establishments in the Caribbean in order to consolidate its presence in the region.
