Lanzarote

The visitors to our Lanzarote hotels think this island is an oasis of sea, wind and lava, a place on the far eastern side of the Canary Archipelago where nature has created a landscape of great beauty. Lanzarote, declared a Biosphere Reserve in 1993, is a paradise for surfers, divers and visitors.

Mirador del Río
In the far north is the fishing town of Órzola that can be reached by buses that leave every day from Arrecife. The Mirador del Río is worth a stop; it is a building with two enormous domes set into the cliff of Famara, the work of César Manrique. Here one can contemplate the Salinas del Río and La Graciosa, the only inhabited island of the Chinijo Archipelago and then relax at the hotel in North Lanzarote, the H10 Lanzarote Gardens (3-star)

La Graciosa
Declared a bird sanctuary, it has two small towns, the Caleta del Sebo and Pedro Barba, two of the most picturesque areas of the Canaries for their sand floors, low houses with thick walls and streets lined with fishing nets shining with silver fish. Boat trips are organised to the other small islands of the Archipelago to marvel at their underwater worlds. The departure point is not far from one of the H10 Lanzarote hotels.

Jameos del Agua
Haría, in the north, is a singular oasis made up of numerous palm tree colonies, buildings of popular architecture and traditional crafts. We can also find Los Jameos del Agua, caverns that were formed when the roof of a volcanic cave fell in, and a place inhabited by the 3,000-year-old albino crab. Another attraction of the area is the Cueva de los Verdes, an ancient refuge for the islanders when pirates looted the island. Take advantage of your stay in our Lanzarote hotels to visit these authentic places.

Teguise
In this area of the island is one of the Lanzarote - Costa Teguise hotels, the H10 Lanzarote Gardens. Teguise is the old capital of the island and today a monumental historical villa. A visit to this town comes by way of The Patio, a country estate converted into a museum that houses in its interior farming tools, ceramics and typical furniture. Nearby is the home of César Manrique, a spectacular building constructed over five volcanic bubbles and a lava bubble, which has a museum where one can see his works and others by Picasso, Miró or Chillida.

Arrecife
Located 30 km from the H10 Lanzarote -South hotels and 6 km from the Lanzarote - North hotels, the capital of the island concentrates the main part of the commercial and culture activity of the island. Its coasts, sprinkled with small islands, were guarded long ago by two historical Castles: San Gabriel, and the Castle of San José. The sea reaches the centre of the city forming the Charco de San Ginés which, with its fishermen’s houses and its intimate night lighting, invites one to take a stroll.

National Park of Timanfaya
In the H10 Hotels we also offer various outings, check with Customer Service in our Lanzarote hotels and visit the Tinajo. To talk about Tinajo is to talk about the authentic symbol of Lanzarote Island: the Timanfaya National Park. Guided visits to Timanfaya can be done on camelback, by bus or on foot...

El Golfo and Yaiza
In the fishing town of El Golfo, one can admire the green lagoon, a fissure in a nearby crater holding emerald-coloured water, and theboiling waters, great mountains of white foam that form oncollision with the reefs. In Yaiza, the traveller can find the Janubio salt mines , whose blinding white reflects the sun, as well as our three 4-star hotels in Lanzarote - Yaiza.

Playa Blanca
In the south are the largest beaches and the best H10 Hotels in Lanzarote. Playa Blanca is an old fishing town and the port where boats depart to Fuerteventura. Other nearby beaches of interest are the Playa Flamingo and Playa Dorada, with calm waters that are ideal for families. From our Lanzarote hotels, you can easily access these beaches by foot.
