Our hotel in Varadero is right next to 22 km of beaches and sun. This stretch of beaches covers a broad strip of fine white sand, sloping gently down into a sea of unbelievably blue and crystal-clear waters .

El Patriarca [The Patriarch]

The Ecological Reserve of Varahicacos, next to the Ocean Varadero El Patriarca resort, is the home to this majestic endemic cactus called The Patriarch, estimated to be more than 500 years old.

The Josone Park 

A 9-hectare park built around the Paz Lagoon, covered by lush vegetation. It is the largest green space in the historic part of Varadero. Discover its stunning Botanical Garden, where natural, cultural, historic and architectural values all coexist.

International Bird-Watching Centre

It is a unique site for viewing local birds, such as the Fermina, the Catey and the Bee Hummingbird, the smallest bird in the world, unique to Cuba.

Dolphinarium

The shows at the Varadero dolphinarium will really surprise you, and you can even swim with the dolphins; a unique moment. It also has an area for children's entertainment. 

Varadero Golf Club

Varadero has a golf course facing the sea, with a surface area of 61 hectares. It was designed by the architect Les Furber, who went for a combination of styles. The classic style of wide tree-lined fairways is mixed with a modern style of narrow fairways and protected greens, surrounded by sand and water traps.

Water activities

The sea at Varadero is great for diving and discovering the beauty of the sea beds of the area. Its sea beds have more than 40 types of corals, diverse fish species, lobsters, prawns, crabs, turtles and more than 70 types of molluscs. There are plenty of water activities to choose from: boat or catamaran outings, windsurf, sailing, catamarans, kayak, canoe, Seafari, snorkelling…

Varadero, located in the peninsula of Hicacos, in the north of the province of Matanzas, boasts totally unique beaches and scenery. It is the closest point to the United States. It bounds in the north with the strait of Florida and in South with Cárdenas bay. It has a population of more than 27,000 inhabitants. 

Varadero is a free port with exceptional conditions for diving, deep sea fishing... So this city has plenty of activities to choose from.

Climate

Cuba has a damp subtropical climate with two defined seasons, the dry season from November to April (dry – 20oC), and the rainy season from May to October. The high season for tourism in Cuba is from mid-November to mid-March and July and August.
